Just WOW!
This clip with Rahm Emanuel, who has positioned himself as the Democratic candidate who can reset the US-Israeli relationship and help push back against the deeply flawed relationship that exists now, shows that the Democratic establishment simply CANNOT manage a profound change in US-Israeli ties.
They can at best manage a big rhetorical change that covers up a status quo on the substance.
The what-aboutism Emanuel employs to deal with the Genocide quetsion is beyond embarrassing. According to his logic, one cannot talk about the genocide the US is funding and enabling in Gaza unless one simultaneously addresses Sudan, and even historical cases of genocide, that the US did not fund or enable.
Emanuel is giving whataboutism a bad name, and by that, reveals the Democratic establishment's moral and intellectual inability to chart a new course on Israel that serves US interests, abides by international law, and conforms with the most basic principles of morality.
U.S. high schoolers are selling guns to Mexican cartels. Drawn by thousands of dollars a month, teenagers in Arizona are buying, stealing, and reselling military-style rifles that end up in the hands of Sinaloa Cartel operatives, the @nytimes reports.

Btw @NYCMayor, who instantly has a tweet out every time there's a suggestion of an "antisemitic incident", hasn't said anything about this despite it happening two nights ago.
Nothing from @AOC either even though she was front and center when Mahmoud Khalil got released.
Her life experience presents such a striking contrast to the throng of wealthy lawyers that typically comprise our political system.
She sees her job as helping people like her. Chuck Schumer says his job is "to keep the left pro-Israel."
He's refusing to fund her campaign.
The US openly attempting, again, to interfere in regional elections this month.
FYI: The US has been intervening in elections throughout Central + South America & the Caribbean since last year to get right-wing/conservative people in positions of power to steal state resources.
There are many secular critics who are writing admirably about AI. But it's been apparent to me for a while that religious—particularly catholic—critics are speaking to the public's moral disquiet in a way that secular thinkers, reliant on utilitarian claims about harm, are not.
I remember when being against the death penalty was a pretty reliable stance to have as a leftist lol did something shift recently bc…you guys are starting to sound kinda funny!
In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.
@DeemTheDreem@atoherbert They think fascism is more tolerable dependent upon who’s wielding its power, which makes total sense considering that they immediately go into cognitive hibernation when team blue is at the mantel.
