With Kiwis facing higher prices at the pump and for everyday goods, the best way to prevent inflation is by restoring stability in the Gulf and returning safe shipping to the Strait of Hormuz.
That’s why I spoke with Pakistan’s Prime Minister, @CMShehbaz, tonight. I thanked the Prime Minister for his work facilitating a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, and for Pakistan’s tireless efforts towards a longer-term peace.
The best pathway to a sustainable solution in the Middle East is through diplomacy.

Sahibzada Farhan was Pakistan’s leading run-scorer in the T20 World Cup but there are certain aspects of his game that merit discussion. Highlighting specific areas does not mean the player is poor or should be dropped. It is simply about assessing performance objectively.
Accumulating runs in T20s has never been an issue for Pakistan’s batters. Both Babar and Rizwan were prolific and topped the rankings yet Pakistan reshuffled the top order because they wanted aggression. Farhan has provided that intent but it is still to be tested consistently against stronger opposition.
Farhan’s T20I record against SENAI (the top five sides) makes a poor reading: 376 runs in 18 innings at a strike rate of 115. Against lower-ranked teams, he has 929 runs in 27 innings at a strike rate of 147. It is noticeable contrast with a decent sample size.
Since 2024, the average balls taken to reach 50 in T20Is are: Australia 27, England 28, India 28, South Africa 29 and New Zealand 29. Pakistan batters on average takes 33 balls to score a fifty, the same as Farhan’s.
Milestones are not the priority in T20 cricket, but when they come, they should arrive at the right pace. At times, there appears to be excessive focus on personal landmarks. For instance, against Namibia he scored just three runs off the last three balls before reaching his hundred with a non-aggressive single and he even acknowledged surpassing Virat Kohli’s 319-run mark by fist-bumping Fakhar. Such celebrations seem slightly unnecessary and pursuit of such landmarks can distract you from bigger goals.
If we look at the last two matches, Farhan’s fifties came off 32 balls against Sri Lanka and 37 against England, well below the current global benchmark. There is no doubt Farhan is a more powerful hitter than Babar and Rizwan against both pace and spin but his dot-ball percentage (42%) remains among the highest, which affects the level of early momentum he can generate.
In a game, read SL vs Pak, where 419 runs were scored in 40 overs, a fifty off 32 balls or a hundred off 59 balls is just about par. It is not a bad innings, but it is unlikely to create a powerful impact. In contrast, Fakhar’s 84 off 42 balls at SR 200.00 was a far more impactful knock.
Farhan now is likely to move to No. 2 in the T20I rankings and could even reach the top if results elsewhere go his way. Rankings are celebrated by fans, but elite teams rarely base their strategies on them alone (a mistake Pakistan did before with certain players). That’s why despite being Number 3 in the world, he didn’t make it to the 14 Pakistan players shortlisted for auction of the Hundred.
Pakistan have won 29 T20Is in the past year. But that quantity does not make them the best team in the world. Similarly, sheer weight of runs cannot, by itself, define a batter as the best.
Joke of the day: the head of the U.S. Cybersecurity Agency leaked internal documents into ChatGPT — now they’re accessible to everyone
According to Politico, acting head of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Madhu Gottumukkala uploaded internal files into the public version of ChatGPT “for work purposes.”
The documents were not classified, but were marked “For Official Use Only.” As a result, CISA contracts, cybersecurity materials, and other sensitive documents were exposed.
The irony: Gottumukkala had previously failed a polygraph test — one he personally pushed to introduce. In the end, rank-and-file employees were suspended, not him.

Indian Delegation Backs Out Of Oxford Union Debate At Last Minute, Hands Walkover to Pakistani side
The Pakistan High Commission in London @PakistaninUK regrets to announce that the Indian delegation scheduled to participate in a high profile debate at the Oxford Union @OxfordUnion on 27 November 2025 has withdrawn at the last minute, effectively handing a walkover to the Pakistani side.
The parliamentary style debate was to be held on the motion, “This House Believes That India’s Policy Towards Pakistan Is a Populist Strategy Sold as Security Policy”. The event had been in preparation for several months, with formal invitations issued by the Oxford Union in June 2025 and confirmations received from both sides.
On the #Pakistan side, the confirmed speakers were:
▪ General (Retd) Zubair Mahmood Hayat, former Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee
▪ Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar, former Foreign Minister of Pakistan @HinaRKhar
▪ Dr. Mohammad Faisal, High Commissioner of Pakistan to the United Kingdom @DrMFaisal
The Indian side had confirmed the participation of:
▪ General M. M. Naravane, former Chief of Army Staff
▪ Dr Subramanian Swamy, former Law Minister and academic
▪ Mr Sachin Pilot, former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan
The Pakistani speakers had already arrived in #London and were scheduled to proceed to #Oxford today. Earlier this morning, however, the Oxford Union informed the organizers that all three Indian speakers had decided to pull out, offering no substantive explanation for their inability to attend a debate they had previously confirmed.
This sudden withdrawal has caused considerable embarrassment for the Oxford Union, one of the world’s leading debating societies, and has deprived its members of a rare opportunity to hear a structured, fact based exchange on a critical regional issue. It is particularly noteworthy that Indian members of the Union significantly outnumber Pakistani members. Yet even in what could reasonably be described as a friendly environment, the Indian side chose not to submit its policies to open scrutiny and a student vote.
The Pakistan High Commission believes that this last minute decision reflects a lack of confidence on the part of the Indian delegation in defending India’s Pakistan policy in an open, rules based forum. While Indian officials and commentators routinely engage in aggressive rhetoric through partisan media platforms, their representatives were unwilling to test those claims in a neutral and intellectually rigorous debate.
Pakistan remains committed to reasoned dialogue, responsible statecraft and peaceful dispute resolution. Pakistan’s delegation came prepared to argue its case on the strength of facts, international law and regional stability considerations. The unilateral withdrawal of the Indian delegation has transformed what should have been a serious exchange of ideas into a missed opportunity that raises further questions about India’s willingness to engage in good faith.
The Pakistan High Commission appreciates the efforts of the Oxford Union and its student leadership, and stands ready to participate in any future event that promotes informed, respectful and substantive dialogue on South Asian peace and security.
The Pakistani delegation had been looking forward to engage in a civilized, reasoned discussion with an Indian side that was its equal in stature and profile. Sadly, India’s decision to withdraw its listed speakers at the last minute has ensured that this was no longer possible.

10,100 Pakistanis applied for asylum in the UK in 2024.
India was the country of origin for most immigrants to the UK with 240,000 arriving in 2024.
Note how nobody discusses Indian migrant numbers but only obsess over Pakistani- the reason: Pakistanis are mostly associated with Islam, while Indians Hinduism.
It's anti Islam masked as 'genuine migration concern'.
Many congratulations Mr Mamdani And thank you for being a commentary enthusiast !You played with a straight bat and exposed the ones who “were not playing cricket” so proud of you ! #zohranfornyc
🇵🇰 PAKISTAN NAVY SEIZES $1 BILLION IN METH AND COCAINE IN ARABIAN SEA
Pakistan's navy just pulled off one of the biggest drug busts ever, intercepting 2 "stateless" vessels in the Arabian Sea within 48 hours and seizing several tons of crystal meth plus cocaine worth an estimated $1 billion.
The PNS Yarmook, working with a multinational naval force including the US and UK, didn't disclose where the boats came from, just that they had "no nationality." Very mysterious.
This comes after another Pakistani ship grabbed $120 million worth of drugs in September.
Someone's supply chain just took a very expensive hit.
