It's rare for a CEO to show vulnerability.
We should thank Satya Nadella for it and encourage others to follow his example.
If the head of Microsoft can do it, so can you.

Absolute BEASTS 🔥 ... and they're HIRING?!! If you want to join a team of founders truly commited to excellence and the grind, these are your people! @adamkhakhar
Today we are finally coming out of stealth with a few announcements:
- Founding @thirdmomentres with my friend Jeffrey Yan: automatically improving inference endpoints (with focus on data research).
- Fundraise at $250M valuation earlier this Summer with investors including @neo (@apartovi ), @Mascobot , @adamdangelo and more.
- 0 -> 8 figures in revenue within ~6 months of founding the company. In just this past month, we won $10M+ in contracts.
- Hiring ~15 more engineers in the next 45 days. Currently based in SF, opening a NYC office soon.
Jeffrey and I are building Third Moment to do two things: (1) make it effortless for enterprises to deploy state-of-the-art AI tailored to their workflows, and (2) build best-in-class RL environments that push the frontier of model capabilities. The design of a reinforcement learning environment has an underappreciated impact on the resulting behaviors of the models trained on it.
If you are interested in pushing the frontier of ML systems and data research, reach out to us ([email protected]). Check out OpenAI’s blog post on some of our experiments in the comments.
My first Pod w/a family member - my cuz @apartovi@neo. Fun (although some of it wasn’t fun at the time …) to turn back the clock and run through the ups and downs of our career paths.
“I gave up and that bugs me a lot”: in 1999, Satya Nadella saw the importance of Search and didn’t press hard enough for it.

I knew Satya Nadella long before he became Microsoft CEO. He was my boss after Microsoft bought my startup in 1998.
In the debut of my podcast, "Confession," Satya shares lessons about empathy, courage, and taking on risk as a leader. And I make a confession of my own. Enjoy!
In "Confession" episode 2, Dara Khosrowshahi reveals a mistake from years ago that still bugs him. He opens up about hitting rock bottom as Uber CEO.
Dara and I are cousins and share many stories from growing up together. I love his candor and humility. Enjoy!
One of my favorite conversations yet: Ali sits down with his cousin, Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber, on Confession.
Listen wherever you find your podcasts!!
... Dara's also a @BrownUniversity alum... so maybe I'm a little bias :)

@apartovi's new podcast, Confession, is a love letter to anyone who has stood in their own way when it was time to take a big swing. 💙
A year ago, I joined Neo for its mission: empowering ambitious people to maximize their potential.
I'm starting a podcast, "Confession," where I invite tech veterans to share their painful lessons.
We all connect through shared pain. Hear founders & CEOs like Satya Nadella (Microsoft), Dara Khosrowshahi (Uber), Luana Lopes Lara (Kalshi), and others share their stories and lessons learned.

@SatyaNadella@Dkhos@luanalopeslara
It matters to founders building consequential companies. It matters to the early operators risking their careers alongside them.
Confession reflects the same ethos that guides the checks Neo writes, the programs we run, and the experiences we create.
@apartovi embodies that honesty. He can talk about what went wrong without turning it into a backdoor brag about what ultimately went right.
He shares something truly f*cking human.
That combination of vulnerability and courage is what drew me here.
@Neo is an educational institution.
And part of helping people reach their potential is being honest about when things go right, and especially when they go wrong.
