The “globalize the intifada” movement has ignited a powder keg of terror and violence against Jews in America—from the firebombing of a Jewish governor’s home, to the cold-blooded assassination of an Israeli and Jewish couple, to a Molotov cocktail hurled at Jews demanding the release of hostages.
To compare the instigators of antisemitic violence to Jews seeking liberation from Nazi death camps—as Zohran Mamdani has done—is not only disgraceful. It is disqualifying.
An open letter from Columbia University faculty describes October 7—the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust—as a “military action” that falls “within the context of the occupation of Palestine by Israel.”
Leave aside that Israel has not occupied the Gaza Strip since 2005.
The butchering of babies is not a “military action.”
It is an act of barbarism and terrorism. Period.
America is plagued by pseudo-intellectuals who have trained themselves to defend the indefensible and to deny what common sense tells us is true.
TONIGHT ON #NIGHTLINE: The Israeli Hostage Center confirmed two more Hamas-held hostages were released earlier today.
The parents of a hostage who is still believed to be in Hamas custody—Hersh Goldberg-Polin— join @ByronPitts to speak to their plight to bring their child home.
At the first photo, my grandchildren are hiding from the rockets of russian terrorists in the Kyiv region, in the first days of the terrible invasion in Ukraine
Later, together with thousands of people, we evacuated them to Israel and Europe
In the second photo, the same people, but hiding from the rockets of terrorists from Hamas...
Two different corners of the world, but such shared pain and struggle... It breaks my heart when I see these faces, but I believe that the light of truth and faith will see us through these trials
I pray to the Almighty, that he may rain down his anger and fury on everyone who is involved in the terror of the civilian population!
Hersh Goldberg Polin is a friend from Berkeley and now a Hamas hostage. Here are photos from when he visited the US Capitol in 2015 and the @CNN interview with his parents yesterday. Hersh is an American, and we need to get him home. https://t.co/eEmsbcS6Bx
If you are speaking to an Israeli mother whose child has been beheaded, I cannot think of anything more callous and cruel than telling a grieving mother: you had it coming. You and your people brought the beheading upon yourselves.
That is essentially what the President of the NYU Law Student Bar Association has done. The exact quote: “Israel bears full responsibility for this tremendous loss of life.”
What to do when commenting on Hamas’ terrorist attack against Israel?
If your first draft mentions neither the victim nor the perpetrator, rewrite it.
If your first draft blames the victim, rewrite it.
If you first draft emphasizes “both sides” or empathizes with the perpetrator, rewrite it.
If your first draft refers to militants rather than terrorists, rewrite it.
