@_mm85 It's a huge improvement. Much better through complex intersections with scooters and pedestrians. I really like the "human-machine co-driving" experience. Should be quite helpful for training data too.
Haven't tried the fully automated swapping yet.
@marcel_lucht@BNPParibas Battery swapping might blow your mind.

@anton_grahn@electricfelix@RoamingNorway According to my chat with Shanghai sales staff last week. A ~60kwh pack will be available when next gen swapping stations come online in 2026.
@PauloMacro Now imagine this happening at the same time China is offering to help Brazil build a transcontinental railroad to bypass the canal and cut transport times to Asia.
https://t.co/f5M3e8v97v
This would be huge: Brazil and China are studying the construction of a 4,500km long South America transcontinental railway that would run from northern Brazilian state of Bahia, cross the Andes, and reach the Chancay megaport near Lima, built with BRI funding.
If built, it could shorten shipping times from Brazil to Asia by as much as 12 days compared with current Atlantic routes that pass through the Panama Canal.
Extremely telling of both countries' contrasting approach to the region, Mauricio Claver-Carone, Trump's special adviser on Latin American affairs, had called a few months ago for tariffs of up to 60% on any company using Peruโs Chancay port for trade with China.
One side tries to create value, the other believes that others' gains is their loss... When actually, if you think about it, the US would also gain a lot from a richer and more developed Latin America. For one it'd considerably improve their illegal immigration issues, and create wealth and infrastructure for American goods and services too.
It's like if you have a house in a village somewhere and a guy you dislike seeks to spend an enormous amount of money developing the area, and instead of recognizing that a thriving village benefits everyone - including you - you'd rather keep the whole place poor just to spite him. Pure destructive nihilism.

@SinoAutoInsight Won't be surprised if iCar gets regulatory approval for their short bed truck and sells it for under $20k with all the bells and whistles before anyone gets a bare bones Slate.
@pretentiouswhat Had to resort to Luckin on a few occasions during our travels the past few weeks. Their SOE is not bad for 20rmb, but I still prefer Manner by a large margin.
@chinacarstravel We needed a little break from the heat and the kids wanted to do some hiking, so I got to test out a Li L7 for about 700km. Pretty comfy.

@strobist We had a blast. It was fun to see how they experienced and navigated the country.
Let me know when you have a better idea on your SH travel dates. Avoid July and August if possible. Too hot and humid to enjoy any day of the scenic walks.
Oh no. Xiaomi organizes track day with champion driver - crashes car
Xiaomi is probably the hottest Chinese car brand, but its SU7 sedan has a reputation for crashing. To teach its customers how to drive fast & safe, Xiaomi organized a track day, grandly called "Xiaomi Auto Elite Driving Advanced Driving Training Course" in Beijing. The main teacher was touring car champion Xie Xinzhe.
The company stated: "Xiaomi's advanced driving training will train 10,000 Xiaomi car owners for free in more than 10 cities across the country to improve safety awareness and car control capabilities. This will definitely have a positive effect on road safety."
The course included: steering wheel grip, safety awareness, driving awareness, acceleration braking + emergency lane change, and more.
Sadly, not all went well. On the first day of the course a blue SU7 Max crashed into a barrier on the side of the track. The car ended up immediately behind a Xiaomi Driving Experience board. The car was immediately covered up with a gray cover. Fortunately, the driver was okay.
At present, the specific cause of the accident is not clear. The training continued a little later.
