Thank you. The important part is zeroing out taxes on the bottom half. Best way to put money in someone’s pocket is to not take it out in the first place. Bottom half is only 3% of total tax revenue. But it’s very meaningful to that person. Zero it out.
Finding a co-founder is hard: high-quality people are rarely available, and available people are rarely high-quality. We know this pain well, having spent the last decade backing entrepreneurs at Day One.
The ideal scenario, obviously, is to meet people before they are fully available (while they are still employed, mostly), and for the encounter itself to be the catalyst that makes them take the leap.
But how can one know a priori that an abstract discussion with a stranger won't be a waste of time? And what is there to discuss at such an early stage when nothing is defined, not even the will to quit one's job?
We have solved these two problems with a club designed to let tomorrow’s best entrepreneurs exchange in a setting that maximizes signal and ruthlessly minimizes noise.
First, by selecting profiles with the deliberate precision we uphold as Day One investors. This is where the Club’s fundamental value lies, as it is not meant to host more than a few dozen members out of thousands of potential ones.
Second, by framing the conversation around the concept of Unique Insight. A Unique Insight emerges when a founder masters a new technological breakthrough and identifies a significant (often ancient) problem it solves. Discussing it allows one to reveal their worldview, their way of thinking and acting. It's the ultimate introduction.
The Club is a space where the identity and current Unique Insight of every member are visible to others. Debates tend to focus on the nuances of new possibilities offered by specific technologies, and on the Unique Insights discovered by peers.
All members share the following characteristics:
-A significant probability of starting a company with global ambitions within the next 12 months. In Paris, SF, or elsewhere
-Top 0.1% of potential founder profiles: people we could imagine backing at Day One
-Each guest applies with their "best" Unique Insight. While it's likely to change over time (if only through the act of partnering), it is a medium to share one's worldview
-Co-founding teams not yet formed. We are not looking for early employees, even "founding" ones
We have been hand-picking the first members one by one and already generated a successful partnership. While we will keep inviting extraordinary people we meet organically, applications are now open.

There’s a genocide happening in Sudan. Men, women, and children are being slaughtered, and the world is silent.
No outrage. No mass protests. No hunger strikes. No boycotts. No “actions” on college campuses.
Just silence. Deafening, shameful silence.

Europe would do well to follow Gates on this pivot. The EU is responsible for just 6% of global emissions, but still thinks it's saving the planet by sorting and washing trash by hand, forgoing AC, or deleting emails (lol). Climate doomerism is degrowth nonsense in a nutshell.
He couldn’t even utter Trump’s name.
Obama was the most divisive President in modern American history and even in a moment of great accomplishment and peace he couldn’t be a unifier. Sad.
We have appended an Editors' Note to a story about Mohammed Zakaria al-Mutawaq, a child in Gaza who was diagnosed with severe malnutrition. After publication, The Times learned that he also had pre-existing health problems. Read more below.
I think marijuana is the most insidious of drugs. It is legal in many states, is socially acceptable to many and is relatively easy for kids to hide, access and consume (vape, gummies etc).
But the science is beginning to tell a very ugly story.
We should have never legalized it. But now that it is, I hope we do something to mandate standard toxicity and concentration labeling at a minimum. This stuff is turning a plurality of our kids into zombies.

Even in Nazi Germany, there were Germans who saved Jews.
Not a single Gazan saved a single hostage.
Many many 'innocent' Gazans took part in the kidnapping & murder and many more came out today and on October 7th to celebrate the return of Jewish babies in coffins.
Hamas must be eradicated. Fully.
Gaza must be denazified and demilitarized. President @realDonaldTrump's vision must be realized.
We cannot live side by side with Hamas and their collaborators.
I am a pretty reserved and level headed person. However, Anyone who participated in this sick and evil death cult ritual should be eradicated from planet earth.
Cannot stop watching this video of Ariel Bibas meeting his new baby brother Kfir for the first time. 😞💔💔
This one really destroys me. It hits different when you hear them actually speaking versus seeing pictures.
Hamas needs to be wiped off this planet IMMEDIATLY.
