The Lincoln Project has wasted no time putting out a video ushering in Kamala Harris for President of the United States!
NGL, the beginning made me teary.
We owe President Biden so much gratitude!
I prosecuted sex predators. Trump is one.
I shut down for-profit scam colleges. He ran one.
I held big banks accountable. He's owned by them.
I'm not just prepared to take on Trump, I'm prepared to beat him.
@ScienceYael The National Gallery is beautiful! Also depends on whether you've been here before -- some of the classical "touristy" things are quite gorgeous too!
Commentary in @CellChemBiol calls our report of antibody (Ab) catalytic destruction of the spike protein 'a new paradigm in neutralization'. Catalytic Abs have been ignored for too long. I hope more consider Ab catalysis in other systems @andrewpekosz

Makes sense why public figures kept getting rebound — they had better access to the drug so they started sooner! They weren’t representative of the general experience obtaining Paxlovid (can personally confirm — it’s a nightmare)
New study: Paxlovid rebound is much more likely if you initiate it within the first 2 days:
29% if started on day 1
17% on day 2
0% on day 3 or later
I had predicted such based on basic principles of immunity alone

Approximately 50% of the SARS-CoV-2 neutralizing activity in COVID-19 convalescent plasma comes from antibody (Ab)-mediated hydrolysis of the spike protein. Key to showing this was separating Ab catalysis from Ab-binding interference using temperature.

Honored to have been a part of this! Still amazed by what we found... antibodies in COVID-19 convalescent plasma have proteolytic activity against the Spike protein!
Add me to this list! Feels like sleep apnea screening should be far more commonplace — I wonder whether racial disparities in diagnosis have been well-studied too? Quick Google Scholar search was not encouraging.
I now personally know several people who ended up discovering they had undiagnosed sleep apnea (potentially for years/decades) and now have started using a CPAP machine or surgery and it's quite literally been a life changing event
Soon, any lab will be able to synthesize their own DNA molecules
So too will ppl at home, much like how 3D printers are much more accessible
Great for innovation
Terrifying for biosecurity
Will be very tough to keep checks to prevent “homemade” viruses

So excited to share that, after my time at Oxford, I’ll return to the States in 2026 to pursue a MD at @harvardmed. So grateful for this opportunity and forever indebted to all who helped me get here. I promise to use my training to advance health equity; I hope I do y’all proud.
