@KlonnyPin_Gosch@ryangrim He’s not perfect, Ppl do evolve tho, especially in their 20’s-30’s. I know plenty of socialists that served. In many cases it was the impetus for their awakening. Anyone running within the confines of this system should be viewed w/ skepticism tho.
@KlonnyPin_Gosch@ryangrim People are really screwed up and confused when they return. Not to mention young — younger when they experienced the acts which haunt them. It’s not as easy as saying, “that sucked and it was the fault of the American empire, so now I’m a socialist”. It takes time and maturing.
@KlonnyPin_Gosch@ryangrim You have clearly never known a lost, and disillusioned combat vet. They had one skill-set and saw no other path to make a living. Many can’t find anyone or any culture that fits the square hole they were cast to fit. Many combat vets have a hard time reentering civilian life.
@CrazerArts@KyleKulinski@SpanbergerForVA *Gold stars for maintaining the status quo.
The status quo being screwing the working class and enriching themselves and their friends.
@vaughn_hilton@shift_in2_turbo Black socialist revolutionaries in the 60’s and 70’s wrote the foundation for modern American socialism. The Panthers founded free education, healthcare, and family services, speaking abt the evils of the capital class and their political and social influences.
@TomGardnerTSSYF@MarcoFoster_@jamestalarico@TeamTalaricoHQ Ownership of politicians is a result of corps and lobbyists acting on their behalf, they write legislation benefiting them, and entrench the system of for sale signs on our politicians. This is the origin of the waste. They lobby to fuck the working class and help themselves
@killahBEENbee He says that “having a baby is a bet on the future”. What future has been offered? I have cried several times because I’ve always wanted a child but cannot, in good conscience, bring a new life into this existence and the future that is seemingly inevitable.
@SarahLongwell25@thegreatgig8 “I can post misinformed takes all I want and you can’t do anything about it” you sound like a child. If you’re going to comment on something, you should do your due diligence if you want anyone to take you seriously.
@i_forklift@scottdbush@HardcoreHistory@thatchthoughts You are completely missing the point. Your focus on which side is more right or wrong is blurring things. His point is that an unbalanced weight of powers between the branches is bad for the country; Especially when that was not the intention of the founding docs.
@i_forklift@HardcoreHistory@thatchthoughts If you’ve listened to @HardcoreHistory talk about American politics, he has previously warned of the encroaching power of the executive under both the GOP and the democrats. This is not a new position for him.
@MrSwiss9@drmistercody Only way that works is without big donors backing what they view as the most “winnable” candidate. This is why Trump was such a surprise in ‘16. No official political operative took him seriously till he cooked the others in the primary debates, but he was and is such an outlier.
@HardcoreHistory Heard a firsthand story recently of someone’s great grandfather that died in WWI from a grenade. Not from the explosion itself but from it landing in such a large pile of rotting bodies that they inhaled infected particulate and died from a lung infection.
@fabylousfaby @callmelaureate@ScooterCasterNY Is the US actively supplying arms to the perpetrators of those conflicts? Or supporting the side that is blocking aid to those affected?
