It’s not as easy as saying, “that sucked and it was the fault of the American empire, so now I’m a socialist”. It takes time and maturing.

Many can’t find anyone or any culture that fits the square hole they were cast to fit. Many combat vets have a hard time reentering civilian life.

No official political operative took him seriously till he cooked the others in the primary debates, but he was and is such an outlier.
