Many of the Founding Fathers (who set in forth America) were deists who considered God to establish the initial condition of reality, like a 'clockmaker' who once sets in forth reality but then did not intervene.

In a way, the Founding Fathers are the God(s) of America, because they established her initial condition by writing-up the constitution and bill of rights.

Citizens of America operate under the law of the land, and the constituents of reality operate under the laws of physics.

@MoundLore Looking at it serpent mound as an eye makes sense. I’d say it’s the third eye where the two snakes meet.

& forgot to mention, at the base (muladhara chakra) the kundalini shakti is said to be coiled up, just like the coil at the lower end of the snake.

As someone who studies ancient symbols of anatomy, serpent mound is very clearly a depiction of the spinal cord. Often depicted as a snake or dragon, “kundalini shakti”. Is the foundation of yoga and (imo) all religions. They say it’s asleep near the base of the spine, and through the process of yoga, you can wake it up, (like the rising sun or a procession), and allow it to rise along your chakras to the ajna (eyebrow center) where the two snakes, ida & pingala, meet —like the two snakes on a pharaoh’s head meet — or the two extensions on the heads of serpent mound approach. When the two meet (or establish an equilibrium) is when enlightenment / illumination occurs, which is why you see a sun-like halo behind people depicted as enlightened and why serpent mound is directed towards the sun.

This is a powerful symbol of a biological process of enlightenment accessible to every human with a spine.
