Assistant Public Prosecutor at ACJM Court, Soumitra Sinha Sarkar says, "This case pertains to a land dispute... a 72-year-old woman's land was illegally encroached upon... the investigation revealed that coercion or forged documents were used to manipulate land records; the land had originally been allotted to her by the CPIM government in 1980-81... Based on the FIR and arguments from the defense counsel, it emerged that the accused—a highly influential individual—had managed to get his share of 'vested land' (government land) mutated in his own name... The investigation is ongoing. Evidence has come to light, and the three days of police custody has been granted... The accused is Kajal Ghosh, and the second person named in the FIR is his wife... In fact, she is believed to be absconding, as she has not yet been arrested..."

जनपद चित्रकूट में आज बाढ़ प्रभावित क्षेत्रों का हवाई सर्वेक्षण एवं घाटों का स्थलीय निरीक्षण किया। साथ ही, बाढ़ प्रभावित 800 परिवारों को राहत सामग्री का वितरण, बाढ़ में आश्रयहीन परिवारों को आवास हेतु भूमि आवंटन प्रमाण-पत्र एवं आपदा मोचक निधि से राहत राशि का वितरण भी किया।

इस अवसर पर प्रभावित परिवारों के मध्य पहुंचकर उनका कुशल-क्षेम भी जाना।

मैं बाढ़ प्रभावितों को आश्वस्त करता हूं कि सरकार पूरी प्रतिबद्धता से उनके साथ खड़ी है।
