I can walk into a clean veg fast food chain in Bangalore (the likes of Dharsinis, Udupi Chains, Vijailaxmis etc), have two idlies for Rs 40, a filter coffee for Rs 20 and a vadai for Rs 20. Filling breakfast at Rs 80. Similarly, reasonably filling lunch at Rs 80-120 points. Things were even cheaper before the war.

But in Chennai, i don't have this option at all. I will have to eat at unhygienic road side shops for this pricing point. If you enter VB or Geetham types, Idly alone will cost 80, coffee 50-60 types and vada another 60 types and meals 250-300 types. One meal here will cost as much as three square meals in Bglore Udupi chains.

If you are an entrepreneur in this F&B space, i seriously recommend you to replicate the Bglore veg fast food formula here in Chennai - hygienic, filling and reasonably priced. Huge potential lying untapped. Wondering why no one is trying?

Transport Minister said today that he has been advised to procure only air-conditioned buses. No more ordinary non-AC buses.

The Chief Minister is very particular that the public in Tamil Nadu should henceforth travel only in AC buses.

I feel this is a very good move. In a tropical country like ours, with rising temperatures, air conditioners are no longer a luxury but a necessity. This would significantly improve the quality of life for the people.

Many decades ago, Lee Kuan Yew realised why air conditioners are a must and started providing them everywhere, even before Singapore became economically powerful.
