BREAKING: Sen. Dick Durbin goes nuclear on the Supreme Court's blatant corruption after Republican Chief Justice John Roberts refuses to appear for a hearing on the court's recent scandals, Durbin asks: "How low can the court go?"
Justice Roberts himself is in hot water after it was revealed that his wife raked in millions of dollars from law firms with business before the court โ the definition of a conflict of interest.
On top of that, Clarence Thomas has been caught taking bribes in the form of luxury travel, trips to resorts, and sweetheart real estate deals from a Republican billionaire. Neil Gorsuch has been lining his pockets with crooked property sales. Brett Kavanaugh is a credibly accused sexual predator.
"We wouldnโt tolerate this from a city council member or an alderman," said Durbin. "It falls short of ethical standards we expect of any public servant in America and, yet, the Supreme Court wonโt even acknowledge itโs a problem.โ
The GOP and its pet judges adamantly oppose any new code of ethics for the Supreme Court. The reason is obvious: personal riches and immunity to both the law and basic morality are the rewards conservative justices expect for their rigid commitment to the Republican Party's policy preferences.
The Supreme Court is undergoing a historic crisis of confidence and unless action is taken immediately it will lose all legitimacy as an institution. America cannot allow this corruption to fester.
Retweet if you demand that the Supreme Court be held to higher ethical standards!
