What many don’t realize is that the term Big Bang, originally suggested by Fred Hoyle pejoratively, is not accurate. There was obviously no Bang, which is more appropriate for compression waves moving through a medium. Nobody can hear banging in space.
What we had, based on our best understanding of cosmic inflation is “reheating”. https://t.co/qxPDilPrOi
So we should call that event “Big Reheating”.
This suggests that the Cosmic Microwave Background - the “remnant” of recombination that is the main evidence of the Big Reheating, should be renamed “Cosmic Microwaved Leftovers”.
So there you it - Big Reheating and Cosmic Microwaved Leftovers - more accurate terminology, and a sign that the universe is just like the rest of us.

A massive galaxy from when the universe was under 2 billion years old shows no sign of rotation, despite already having several times the Milky Way’s stars and no new star formation. @NatureAstronomy https://t.co/gnW3ooEUjq
With its giant 6.5-meter mirror, NASA’s JWST space observatory has the sensitivity to spot the faintest galaxies in the early universe.
Now, astronomers are trying to enhance its resolution: its ability to separate small objects that are so close together they would normally blur into a single point of light.
To do it, they’re using a novel “keyhole” mode that—paradoxically—blocks much of the light from the mirror. Combining the remaining bright spots through a technique called interferometry allows astronomers to suppress noise and approach the maximum resolution that JWST can achieve.

Pakistan strongly condemns the missile and drone attacks on civilian infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates last night. I express full solidarity with His Highness @MohamedBinZayed. Pakistan stands firmly with our Emirati brothers and sisters as well as with the Government of the United Arab Emirates at this difficult time. It is absolutely essential that the ceasefire be upheld and respected, to allow necessary diplomatic space for dialogue leading to enduring peace and stability in the region.
Before placing bets at least learn to locate the region of Sharjah state in the UAE map.
And by Allah's grace and this will never happen. So shove this bet inside your market'ass. Idiots
Long Live UAE

The quantisation of the electromagnetic field doesn’t just affect emission and absorption. It explains blackbody radiation, scattering, indirect effects of the electromagnetic field, for example the way energetic charged particles interact or precision measurements of fundamental constants, etc
And not just qualitatively, but in agreement with some of the most precise measurements in history.
It’s not a dumb question, many don’t appreciate how extraordinarily strong and consistent the evidence for photons is
