Russian student Daria Kozyreva, 19, was sentenced to almost three years in Russian prison last week. She was punished for taping a paper with poems by Taras Shevchenko (a Ukrainian poet) to Shevchenko's monument in Russia on the anniversary of the war.

In her last word, Daria said:

"Part of the Ukrainian land, yes, is still occupied. Perhaps it will be occupied for a long time to come. This is sad to admit, but alas. However, Moscow has not managed to conquer Ukraine. The heroic Ukrainian people stood up in defense of their homeland. And at the cost of many, many sacrifices they defended their country. The national flag is flying over Kyiv and will be flying forever. When the occupiers were thrown away from the capital in early 2022, they were simply left with nothing.

My dream, of course, is for Ukraine to regain every inch of her land, including Donbas and Crimea. I believe that one day my dream will come true. Someday history will judge everything by justice. But Ukraine has won anyway. She has already won."

Evil may have its hour, but God will have His day. This is one of the meanings enshrined in the story of Christ. Of His earthly suffering and death – and of His resurrection, and the truth that sooner or later, yet inevitably, evil will retreat, and life will triumph.

That is what we have wanted for all 1,152 days. We are united in this. Every day – and especially today, when Ukrainians of all Christian denominations celebrate Easter on the same date. Together. We fight for Ukraine together. And we pray for Ukraine together.

May evil’s hour end. May the day of life arrive. The day of peace. The day of Ukraine. The day that lasts for centuries. And we will be able to come together again. At one table. On a peaceful Easter.

Earlier today, Mohsen Mahdawi of White River Junction, Vermont, walked into an immigration office for what was supposed to be the final step in his citizenship process.

Instead, he was arrested and removed in handcuffs by plainclothes, armed, individuals with their faces covered. These individuals refused to provide any information as to where he was being taken or what would happen to him.

This is immoral, inhumane, and illegal. Mr. Mahdawi, a legal resident of the United States, must be afforded due process under the law and immediately released from detention.

3. Trump defied the court and deported him to an El Salvador prison.
