Check out this new book written for believers who are concerned about misteachings in the modern Christian church. The Missing Pieces: Ten Truths Modern Christianity Misplaced https://t.co/HYNP9LnNl3
@BrysonGray Yes, but why be a Christian (when it can mean so many different things today), when you can be a Follower of the Way as Yeshua made fully known!
@jimmiejoemike If Satan did not exist would we still be disobedient?
Absolutely. Nothing in the scriptures states that we require Satan’s temptations to be disobedient. We are the reason for disobedience. Thoughts?
@ken_schonberg And further how would you argue that the literal translation “one of the Shabbats” “violates” Greek grammar to the extent that it should be discarded as a translation possibility?
@ken_schonberg Ken, thanks for pushing me on this. Wouldn’t a literal translation of μία τῶν σαββάτων be “one of the Sabbaths” or perhaps “days”? With this still 1) there is no new command 2) alignment with the plethora of commands to keep Shabbat 3) and agreement with Shabbat being set apart.
@ken_schonberg But then based upon this supposition, the desire to not violate Greek grammar supersedes YHWH’s instructions. This cannot be. Thoughts to resolve this?
@ken_schonberg Numbers was in Hebrew, not Greek. Regardless, a translation choice that does not align with scripture is most likely an error. No new instructions were given, and clearly no new command occurred to shift the day of rest from the seventh to the first .
@ken_schonberg Your logic does not stand. There is no missing word suggesting the need to insert day. Numbers 1:1 does not apply. Greek did not have a word for Shabbat hence sabbaton. They did however have a word for day, mia, that was not used here, hence first of shabbats.
@ken_schonberg Sure. An example is Acts 20:7 commonly translated as first day of the week or Sunday, derived from the Greek word for first hein or heis, combined with sabbaton, mistakenly translated as day when it should be Shabbat.
@OperHealAmerica True and False. We are not to judge others for their salvation. Only One can do that. We are to judge if others who claim to be believers are producing fruit indicative of being in the faith.
@jimmiejoemike Perhaps, and this is what is commonly taught, but the tablets we know for certain had the ten words of the covenant written on them. A covenant is a bilateral agreement. What are the ten words of the covenant between Israel and YHWH?
@catholicdads_ Yes, but you ignore that the Holy Spirit provides counsel not authority, His Truth not man’s opinions/desires, and brings about the living out of YHWH’s Torah not the perverted teachings of the RCC.
