What a match it was. Cricket is such a beautiful game which produces a lot of nail biting-edge of the seat thriller matches that no other game can even think of. The world at large have to play cricket more than football.

Salah should have never started this game. 1 change besides the keeper shows Slot either feels he doesn’t have other choices or is just lost. Either way, his time is up. #lfc
@AbsaSouthAfrica hi. Had a family WhatsApp account hacked. The hacker tried to extort money from the contacts on the account requesting funds to be paid into this absa account. Can it be investigated internally?

@Zwelinzima1 I was aligned with your thoughts until you mentioned nationalisation. That has proven not to work in SA. There are competent private companies that can support the economy and grow jobs, if they have the policy support and will from government.
F&I is the backbone of dealership profitability:
And right now—F&I profits are rising.
Public dealership groups just hit a 5-year high ($2,501 profit per vehicle).
But three major hurdles are reshaping how dealers approach F&I—
Here's how dealers are clearing them.
Obstacle #1: Tight budgets are weakening F&I’s appeal.
New car prices hit $49,740 in December, and monthly payments are averaging $742—leaving little room for high-margin F&I products.
The problem? F&I success depends on making protection products feel essential. But when buyers are stretched thin, that pitch often falls flat.
The fix? One Texas dealer follows a strict three-step “reality check” process in every deal:
1) Challenge: Ask how the economy has impacted the customer.
2) Pain: Dig deeper—what’s the biggest concern? Repair costs? High rates?
3) Remedy: Offer a solution that directly addresses their pain points.
Obstacle #2: More costly financing is leading to lower financing penetration.
Loan rates remain steep—6.35% for new, 11.62% for used. Which means more buyers continue to pay cash.
The problem? F&I profits depend heavily on financing. No loan? No reserve income.
The fix? One Nissan GM overhauled his tire-and-wheel package after realizing customers were confused about what it covered.
By streamlining the offering and clearly separating the benefits, he increased attachment rates.
Obstacle #3: Negative equity is still stalling deals.
Longer loans (68 months for new cars) and rising prices have left 24.2% of trade-ins underwater.
The problem? Negative equity slows the F&I pipeline. If buyers can’t trade in, they can’t buy—and dealers lose out on F&I opportunities.
The fix? A Michigan finance director built a 6-month F&I boot camp, handpicking top sales talent to train.
The biggest takeaway is teaching them to introduce F&I during the vehicle presentation—when excitement is highest.
That emotional engagement makes protection products feel like part of the deal.
Bottom line: Customers aren’t saying no to F&I—they just need a better reason to say yes.
The sharpest dealers are tapping into this shift—reframing F&I as a buffer against the headwinds.
And it’s working.
