@smgaddis Was in a similar situation and the editor ghosted me about 8 months in. Withdrew after 12 mos., submitted elsewhere and had 3 quality reviews back in a month. Quality ed. makes huge difference.

Legitimately curious what would happen if Disney's land loses "special status," i.e., Reedy Creek Improvement District. Does it become unincorp. Orange Cty? AFAICT, there are no homeowners within the district, so no voters who could be a new municipality.

Accreditation is already a huge time sink at my small institution, where we're used to our accreditor and their expectations. Another reason to feel frustrated for my colleagues at FL state institutions (and lucky to be in private sector.)

@Kenwelch Chicago used to have a lakefront airport for executive flights and rich hobbyists. Now it's a sizeable park for everyone with large swaths of natural habitat. Something to think about...

NEW: FL's Senate Rs release four draft congressional maps. Bizarre: these maps shore up #FL27 Rep. Maria Salazar (R), but otherwise are barely gerrymanders. By my count these maps break down 16-12 Trump-Biden, vs. 15-12 today. Is this a head fake?

@fabiorojas Mostly agree, and I always refer students to Weber's vocation essay. But in the current atmosphere doing sociology is a political position: Thatcher argument that society doesn't exist is now conservative Canon. Not sure where that leaves us.
