@JustinTheC Hi, it works always if codex desktop app is running. So if your laptop is awake it will work even if you close the lid (there should be a macos settings to enable that).
Built Remote Codex - a mobile app that syncs with the Codex app.
I really like the Codex app, but I had to be tied to my laptop the whole time.
Now I can go for a walk, commute or just not be constantly in front of my laptop in order to continue working.
Features:
- Voice transcription
- Start new threads
- Continue prompting from existing threads
- Multiple workspaces
- Approve/deny actions
- Once back to the laptop, everything is already synced
Quick demo below π
@iwanttobeinmars@hunvreus@OpenAI This seems to only connect to the codex cli. What a lot of people use is the codex desktop app which this app does not seem to support.
Patience is harder than coding.
I can ship an MVP in 2 weeks, but waiting 3 months to see if people care?
That's the real test.
Most builders (including me) quit right before it works.
If your side project takes more than 3 clicks to explain, you don't have a positioning problem.
You have a clarity problem.
Build clarity first. Features second.
@SIGKITTEN are the messages/threads sent from the phone shown in the codex app once I come back to the laptop? Or is this strictly iphone only workspace?
the feature that took 2 weeks to build got used by 3 people
the feature that took 2 hours to build became the main use case
you cannot predict what users actually want
you can only ship fast enough to find out
build the MVP
watch what people actually do
build more of that
