Just took another serious attempt on LLMs for solving a non-trivial / not-part-of-the-training-data software engineering task. Tried Copilot Workspaces, GPT-4o with Plandex-ai and Claude Sonnet 3.5 using the web interface and for all three of them the results were pure garbage.

It costed my one hour. Which I think is a good price to get rid of the FOMO all this social media hype keeps building up.

@mysticaltech @levelsio @Cloudflare Unfortunately and unsurprisingly, the Europoorean mentality reigns supreme around here. It’s a great place to live but if you don’t want to live your work life miserably, you’ll end up working remotely. There isn’t really a tech scene.

It might be that this is the case today, but it wasn’t the case back when they’ve started their monetization efforts.

I remember quite vividly there was a single PR that did nothing but remove the ability to easily deploy to other clouds.

The features that required lower level “control” over the infrastructure came much later.

@DaveShapi Writing code and software/systems engineering are two different jobs. I can see AI reliably replacing humans for the former but not the latter.
