#SSO2024 John Wayne Clinical Research Lecture
Phenomenal talk by @kandymarsy. "Targeting the Cell Cycle Machinery in Cancer- From Bench to the Clinic and Back”
Epitome of impactful translational research that is changing standard of care in treatment of sarcoma & breast cancer.
#SSO2024 I really enjoyed the talk by @kandymarsy
Especially how she highlighted researchers/mentees who have led the work under her leadership and guidance.
Thrilled to see how our pre-clinical basic science work in the lab is being translated into promising new clinical trials with CDK2 inhibitors. Possible through collaborative efforts with Timothy Yap, Debu Tripathy, @KellyKhunt, Linjie Luo, and @ndttuyen. @MDAndersonNews
In this issue, @ndttuyen et al. identify a sequential therapeutic strategy targeting Rb then perturbing DNA synthesis that synergistically suppresses Rb-positive sarcomas and report an approach to noninvasively monitor response.

@kandymarsy@KellyKhunt
This work wrapped up my amazing journey at @MDAnderson Cancer Center where I challenged my disciplinary boundaries and sought to go above and beyond. It was an amazing experience for me, a trained chemist, to work in the biological world and think like a translational scientist.
There is no better way of celebrating the new year than having my first author manuscript accepted for publication on @CR_AACR.
Thank you, Drs. @kandymarsy and @KellyKhunt, for giving me this incredible opportunity/training.
Our study on the sequential targeting of retinoblastoma and DNA synthesis pathways as a therapeutic strategy for sarcomas that can be monitored in real time is officially out in @CR_AACR. @MDAndersonNews,@KellyKhunt, @ndttuyen . https://t.co/R8V5WOElyq
I can’t believe that I ran into Dr. Thu Annelise Nguyen from #TexasTech at #AACR22. It has been so long since I moved to Houston.
#AACR is such a wonderful occasion to re-connect with people.
Dr. Sofia Mastoraki shares a novel prognostic tool that may help identify patients with early-stage ER positive/HER2 negative breast cancer that will benefit from long-term endocrine therapy: https://t.co/9hZlofDXuX @SofiaMast1@KellyKhunt@kandymarsy#AACR22#EndCancer
