🚨Over the weekend we welcomed our 20,000th user!
With 100 new users signing up every week, and around 400 charge requests per week, it’s great to see so many people finding, using, and sharing the app. Thank you everyone for your support, and here’s to the next 20,000 users 😊
@gideonthediver@tillathenun @herkessoft @muppetkeeper ...and the content "Hi, will the charger that your <vehicle & plate> is using be free soon? Thanks"
@gideonthediver@tillathenun @herkessoft @muppetkeeper Are we talking the push notification? So there are two parts - the title "Somebody needs to charge" and the content "A fellow EV driver would like to plug into the charger you're using for <vehicle & plate>". Would you change both? e.g. Title "Will the charger be free soon?"...
@charwarz @WaspInTheLotus I see what you mean, but at least if you get pinged by the Need To Charge app you can help people without having to lock yourself away! Sometimes I’m opportunity charging and would gladly move if someone needs the charge, other times it allows me to tell people I’ll be a while
@charwarz @WaspInTheLotus The main reason for this is you don’t have to bother with that - no need to remember to set the time you arrive / how long you’ll be / leave Personal contact info. Just sign up and you’re ready every time you charge.
Tme for a quick update on numbers!
🚗 As of this very minute there are 10,192 users
👋 In the last week we welcomed 223 new users and their 1 or more EVs
🔋 In the last week, or the 339 charge requests sent, 58 matched NTC users... That's 58 range anxieties averted!
@106Euan @Bunter1815 @ArnoldClark@LoveWestLothian@EVA_Scotland Thanks @106Euan and @ArnoldClark - the more people that can be encouraged to be the EV driver they wish they were, the better! It's all about people saying "I'm happy to let people ask me how long I'll be" rather than "get off the charger - it's my turn" 😊
@Bunter1815 @ArnoldClark@LoveWestLothian@needtochargeapp@EVA_Scotland True, plus it's free. Great shout - @ArnoldClark that's an excellent suggestion from Bill. EV buyers could be encouraged to sign up to @needtochargeapp when buying an EV, meaning it would be easy to anonymously and securely contact them to ask them to move their EV if needs be.
@Bunter1815 @ArnoldClark@LoveWestLothian@needtochargeapp is a very handy tool worth registering on. Shame it relies on the offending EV being registered on it too though!
@EVA_Scotland's solution is also good: a timer wheel that shows people when you'll be back+ secure text service to contact you if they need a charge
@thecatspyjamas5 @BMWi3guide Tips - download the free @plugshare App as IMHO best mapping software to find and rate chargers and simple to use for journeys. Tip2 Download the @needtochargeapp App to be able to communicate easily with other EV drivers when you leave EV on a Rapid charger.
@stupot42@needtochargeapp The @needtochargeapp is excellent, and I recommend ALL EV or PHEV drivers consider downloading it and getting the windscreen QR code discs from the App (free to print!) to allow others to contact you if you are charging to see how long you need to charge if they are waiting.
