"Exciting insights from @NSPSravanthi's interview with Biopatrika! 🎙️ She discusses her groundbreaking work on 'LRRK2 & AP-3: Key Regulators of Synaptic Vesicle Traffic' from @WormlockHolmes's lab at TIFR, Mumbai, published in PLOS Genetics. https://t.co/dMTj2HN1c8
A new preprint experiment & theory from us on regulation of the synaptic vesicle motor KIF1A. Work driven by PhD student @vidur_sa1 who will tweet a thread shortly.
Our wonderful theory collaborators @amitn_biolphy @iitbombay & Debasish Chaudhuri IOPB & his student @AmirShee2
A new @biorxivpreprint from our lab. A role for the synaptic active zone protein SYD-2/Liprin-α in the neuronal cell body in biogenesis & polarized trafficking of synaptic vesicle precursors through clathrin adaptor protein complexes. https://t.co/NZD6QeoWSl
A bit late but we were happy to make it to the cover of the November issue of Genetics @GeneticsGSA showing C. elegans neurons regenerating. Art work by @vidur_sa1 & @maverink_sciart 1/6
The plight of young researchers in this country is beyond sad.. especially considering the times we are living in. PhD student in the lab sent this email to CSIR, and the sad thing is he may never receive even a cursory reply. Please amplify his voice.. 1/4
Scientists don’t do research to publish papers, we do research to change the world.
Publishing papers has become a weaponised metric. No papers, no funding, no job. You can’t criticise that situation without acknowledging the perverse incentives in place.
What’s measured is done.
A global discussion on "Inclusion of Underrepresented Populations in Science" takes place on May 5 (Wednesday) at 6:30pm IST. Ramakrishna Ramaswamy and Sonajharia Minz represent India on the panel. Links to watch are here: https://t.co/S3xTYRhRAz #GlobalLifeSci
@gjaishan@ExSecular The tweet is still there, but it was posted when mamta was leading for a while in the elections. Not in the context of bengal violence
If one DM could make such an impact, imagine what would have happened if the entire political system and the bureaucracy worked with the same sense of urgency.

I am looking for bright, motivated PhD students to join my lab group @jncasr. Up to two positions are available. Do contact if you are interested in carrying out field work or simulations to address questions relating to behaviour/ecology/demography of elephants in Nagarahole.
The bravado of Narendra Modi. Arresting a 21 year old climate change activist for volunteering in the farmers protest. Disha Ravi has been incarcerated for expressing solidarity with the farmers. Is the world watching ?

Excited to announce ImageJ.JS: #ImageJ running in the browser and mobile devices! We compiled ImageJ into Javascript and integrated with #ImJoy! The goal is to make ImageJ even more accessible in one click, no installation, more secured and a lot more possibilities with the web!
Next up in our lab peeps series is @maverink_sciart, whose early science illustrations still adorn the walls of the lab! Madhu talks to @vaidya_ruj about her time in the lab, her transition away from an academic path & her current work @SciGalleryBlr#labpeeps
We find solace and take pride in Prime Minister Ardern's acknowledgement of science and science communicators.
We hope one day that our nation's science communicators are equally recognized, nurtured, valued and thanked.
@YesSciComm@ParshatiPatel Their IG handle posted details for an event where a woman speaker is described as 'a small and cute' astronomer.
How often do men astronomers get called 'muscled and handsome'? Not too often, right?
Then why use those adjectives for women?
