2. This is a woman being held up by a group of misogynistic men. Who are brutally assaulting her with batons.

3. Imagine facing this level of dehumanisation, cruelty and humiliation. This is absolutely Evil.

This makes my blood boil; such uncivilized and vicious behavior must be punished.

Obituary

I'm not even sure how to write an obituary. I don't even recall reading one.

How can you write an obituary for someone who was so full of life, vitality, and spirit? To write an obituary, I'll have to convince myself that he's dead.

So for me, this is an obituary of life itself.

Mayank Saxena's main profession was to be a friend to a lot of us and fighting for poor and hungry. His hobbies included writing, acting, poetry, music, reporting, activism, revolution, fighting, having a shattered heart, and being a caricature of Mayank Saxena.

While I'd known him for a while, a chance meeting with him was during the anti-CAA/NRC movement was when I actually met him. I recall seeing him for the first time, playing a revolutionary song, much like in the photo. And that is how the majority of us will remember him.

He was an a vairagi and grahasth, a sufi and a artist looking for fame and recognition. He was all grey tones, while his friends knew he was so black and white.

He frequently whined about success, yet he was great, if greatness has nothing to do with fame or money.

He was worried about poor people he'd never met. He worried about victims who were yet to become victims. He was unhappy because he was constantly worried. Maybe anyone who thinks and has sufficient empathy are never really happy.

It might seem to you that he died suddenly, but he actually died slowly. This world was too harsh for him, and he was helpless because of his compassion.

But with all his helplessness, he was a fighter. You might believe that death killed him, but in actuality, it was life.

Mayank, I won't say we'll remember you, since we'll never forget.
