What would it take to accelerate like this again?
Less bureaucracy?
Increased optimism?
High urgency?
Risk tolerance?
Willingness to fail?
A little of everything.
Legendary.
"Less than a dozen of these machines operating together at full speed can do more full body scans than every MRI machine together on Earth."
Mid journey unveils the future of medical scanning:
"Less than a dozen of these machines operating together at full speed can do more full body scans than every MRI machine together on Earth. Our goal is to build a fleet of 50,000 of these scanners, capable together of doing a billion scans a month—enough to bring full body imaging to everyone on Earth."
Using thousands of specialized transducers, this prototype system shoots ultra-precise sound waves through the body at over 1,400 meters per second. As these sonic vibrations echo back, they are captured in data streams of 17 gigabytes per second, measuring changes finer than the width of an atom. A massive 2-petaflop compute ring then merges these thousands of sub-images to map out a highly detailed, 3D internal anatomy of organs and tissues in just 60 seconds.
"This is a new kind of infrastructure. It’s Full Body Ultrasonic Computational Tomography. No such device has ever been built until now, and yeah, we’re calling it the Midjourney Scanner."
My favorite quote from David, was that they want this to be a feel like a genuinely “nice” experience, not a “going to the doctor experience” they’re going to put these inside mid journey spas!
Silicon Valley is obsessed with 20-year-old founders.
But there is no age limit to starting a business.
While everyone thinks older people don't play, the data says otherwise:
@pitdesi People’s reactions to water use in data centers feels like a Rorschach test. It reveals more about their biases, priorities, and worldview than the issue itself.
Companies that don’t hire younger SWEs will lose out in the next five years.
At Shopify, we have a leaderboard for AI usage, and the Top 100 (out of 8,000 employees) is packed with the small cohort of New Grads who joined with me last year and some cracked Staff Engineers.
I discovered my neighbor was stealing my WiFi.
Most homeowners would change their password.
I saw an underdeveloped revenue channel.
He was using 847GB of bandwidth monthly. I saw 847 opportunities for monetization.
I didn't block him. Instead, I set up a man-in-the-middle attack and injected ads into every webpage he visited.
The ad content? High-converting affiliate offers tailored to his browsing history.
Sports site? Here's a $300 sports betting bonus.
Recipe blog? Kitchen gadgets at 70% off.
News article? This ONE stock that will 10x by December.
I also throttle his connection to 1mbps unless he clicks through my referral links, where he gets fiber speeds.
He's frustrated with the "internet issues" lately. But every entrepreneur knows that friction creates conversion.
Each day he spends online generates $73 in affiliate commissions from his clicks and sign-ups.
I don't think you understand the ecosystem I've built.
Just look at the value ladder:
- My neighbor gets free internet (with minor inconveniences)
- I get a 24/7 conversion machine
- My affiliate accounts are hitting platinum tier status
- I'm beta testing behavioral retargeting at the router level
This is how I turned a security breach into a six-figure passive income stream.
My neighbor asked why his banking app keeps showing crypto ads.
I told him that's just how the internet works now.

@Nymne Fair. Demand is not guaranteed to go up — it’s our job to put the energy to good use. The limit is our own creativity. I hope they find some great uses for it!
Perhaps they should invest in data centers. Haha
@Nymne If that’s true then it sounds like price fixing in a constrained market. Seems like the market is the problem.
In a free market a bad investment should lead to the company going under.
@Nymne Investment doesn’t drive up price because the incentive is to invest in lost cost production or they wouldn’t make money. Increased demand drives up price. Lack of supply drives up price. Government interference in markets drives up price.
What’s your point? The market rewards low cost producers with higher profits meaning the incentive is to produce low cost. Those who have a higher cost to produce compared to market price will go under regardless of how much they invested. That’s the beauty of capitalism — innovate to be a lower cost producer or lose.
We should probably speed run increased energy production.
What are the most promising technologies / companies coming down the pipe who will meaningfully contribute to us generating 10x what we do now?
- fusion
- geothermal
- solar
What else are we looking into? What are the bottlenecks?
