in no particular order here are some of my all time favorite albums. i probably forgot way too many so i’ll most likely update this later.
lets be mutuals if we have similar taste in music because this account is basically just me being a music geek and fangirling over my faves.
@offthewalldemo@josephac1984 i believe it’s sony music, epic records and if i’m not mistaken legacy recordings but the specifics of who owns what would require deeper research🤔
@offthewalldemo@josephac1984 actually the jackson 5/the jacksons materials isn’t necessarily under the mj estate’s control. it depends on the rights involved. but as for thriller, the only thing i genuinely think the estate did well was releasing the short film in 4k.
@impavidus1 financial accountability and defending michael against false accusations are not mutually exclusive. conflating the two doesn’t make paris’s concerns about the estate’s financial practices any less valid.
paris is right to keep pushing for transparency. the estate’s commercial success doesn’t put its executors above scrutiny especially after a judge ruled that $625k in bonuses paid to outside law firms had to be returned. michael’s legacy is not a blank check for those managing it
@josephac1984@offthewalldemo i’m not mad tho cuz nobody seems interested in officially releasing these and contributing to the legacy. it’s been 45 years.
so #mjtwt can we talk about this photo pls bc i’ve been seeing a lot of accounts using it as their pfp. this photo is completely fake. i’m adding the real one too, use this one instead & please warn your mutuals who are using this fake photo.
@Vladelec675584 who tf are you to tell mj’s daughter what to do with her own father’s estate? that’s HER father, HER inheritance, and HER right to question how it’s managed. she doesn’t owe you a fucking hard work demonstration to deserve what her own father left her.
i’m more stubborn & defiant because i have nothing to prove and nothing to lose. chances are the things you fear losing have never held much power over me.
if the estate’s management has done such an exceptional job why should scrutiny of its fees and financial reporting be a problem? commercial success shouldn’t be used as a shield against accountability.
invincible deserved to be heard without all the noise surrounding its release. more than two decades later, it still sounds adventurous, emotionally complex and deeply immersive and every listen reminds me why it remains one of michael’s most fascinating albums.
