Please read and share this from @MOH_Kenya. Anyone with Ebola symptoms and a travel or contact history should be moved only by designated response teams, not private or NEMT vehicles. We're following MoH guidance on every booking. https://t.co/xncdkmqNtQ https://t.co/2tvq8lKn8I
@citizentvkenya Useful for carers of older or disabled relatives: keep dialysis, chemo and clinic visits on track, wash hands before and after helping someone, and if anyone at home gets symptoms after travel or contact with a case, call MoH first rather than driving them in yourself.
@NationAfrica Screening at the gate is one checkpoint; the ride out of JKIA is another. Drivers, transfer firms and NEMT operators need one rule: a passenger arriving unwell after travel from DRC/Uganda goes to a designated MoH team, not a private car. That's our policy.
3/ We do not transport suspected or confirmed Ebola patients; those trips belong with designated MoH response teams. For everyone else (dialysis, chemo, clinic visits, discharges) we're still running and following MoH guidance. https://t.co/xncdkmqNtQ
2/ If someone has fever, vomiting, diarrhoea or unexplained bleeding AND recent travel to DRC/Uganda or contact with a case: do NOT use a regular ride, matatu or taxi. Call the Ministry of Health or your nearest health facility so a designated team moves the patient safely.
1/ Kenya has confirmed its first imported Ebola case. Our thoughts are with the family and the health workers responding. A few clear facts from us as a non-emergency medical transport provider https://t.co/xncdkmqNtQ🧵
