Aditya-L1: Celebration of First Orbit Completion 🌞🛰️
Today, Aditya-L1 completed its first halo orbit around the Sun-Earth L1 point. Inserted on January 6, 2024, it took 178 days, to complete a revolution.
Today's station-keeping manoeuvre ensured its seamless transition into the second halo orbit.

New paper alert -- observational signatures of the tidal disruption of the first stars --- congrats! to Jane's student Rudrani who led the work - this was project that we had on the back burner for ages...delighted to see it done!

Congratulations Prime Minister @Kishida230 and everyone at JAXA on achieving Japan’s first soft Moon landing. India looks forward to our cooperation in space exploration between @isro and JAXA.
POEM-3 on PSLV-C58:
VSSC/ISRO successfully tests a 100 W class Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell on PSLV-C58's orbital platform, POEM3.

With 35-40% battery mass savings, these cells are set to make future space and ground applications lighter and more efficient.
Dr. Somanath has said ISRO is confident about having the first module of the Indian Space Station ready by as early as 2028!!
As per the targets set by PMO, the Bharatiya Antariksh Station is to be built by 2035. 🇮🇳 #ISRO
Chandrayaan-3 Mission:
Ch-3's Propulsion Module (PM) takes a successful detour!
In another unique experiment, the PM is brought from Lunar orbit to Earth’s orbit.
An orbit-raising maneuver and a Trans-Earth injection maneuver placed PM in an Earth-bound orbit.

Aditya-L1 Mission:
The Spacecraft is healthy and on its way to Sun-Earth L1.
A Trajectory Correction Maneuvre (TCM), originally provisioned, was performed on October 6, 2023, for about 16 s. It was needed to correct the trajectory evaluated after tracking the Trans-Lagrangean Point 1 Insertion (TL1I) maneuvre performed on September 19, 2023.
TCM ensures that the spacecraft is on its intended path towards the Halo orbit insertion around L1.
As Aditya-L1 continues to move ahead, the magnetometer will be turned on again within a few days.
