BREAKING: Two people have climbed to the top of the Empire State Building in New York City, holding a banner from the skyscraper's antenna reading, "When the power of love beats the love of power, the world knows peace."
As of now it's unclear how the pair reached the top of the building as police work to get them down from the spire, 1,454 feet above the ground.
A message from Mary, a 72-year-old Amazon worker from North Carolina projected onto Jeff Bezos’s $120 million penthouse before tonight’s #MetGala, chaired by Bezos.
A’ja Wilson on what keeps her motivated to keep playing:
“The real answer? I like making people mad. I like proving people wrong. I like to let people just burn because me and my team are doing great or they never could’ve imagined me or my team in this situation. That’s the real answer. The politically correct answer? The youth. The kids make me go!”

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on consistency being a muscle you can grow, what discipline is, and why you can't only have it in times of prosperity:
💪 Consistency isn’t a trait you’re born with, it’s a muscle you build. Every time you follow through when it’s inconvenient, you add another rep. The strength doesn't show up until at some point in the future, but it’s earned in the now.
😁 Anyone can be consistent in times of prosperity. The real separator is doing the work when motivation disappears. That’s where identity is truly formed, you find out who you are, not in the spotlight, but in the resistance.
📌 Discipline is doing what matters most when you least feel like acting on it. If you only rely on consistency in good times, it becomes a crutch. If you train it in hard times, it becomes a competitive advantage.
Champions aren’t determined by flashes of greatness, but by how RARELY they drift below their standard of success.
They don’t use the consistency muscle in a reactionary way, instead they train it daily so the habit of success has somewhere to live. 🏠
I'm starting to realize that 4-5 key people will change the trajectory of your entire career or business.
Some archetypes this can look like:
- A fantastic boss/manager
- A champion at a first customer that opens doors for you
- A colleague that vouches for you to get a job that's out of your league
- A mentor that gives you honest feedback of your current business and what you need to change
Finding those 4-5 people is way more important than being popular, having followers, etc. Find whatever spaces that will have the highest likelihood of those 4-5 people being there.
You need to surround yourself with people who have high ambition and people who are content. High ambition people light a fire under your ass encouraging you to reach your full potential. People who are content will show you how to have enough in a world that always wants more.
Something I'm learning as I'm getting older: the best way to inspire your friends is to simply live a good life and let your life be an example of what's possible.
“Most people don’t want be pushed that hard. They want to be pushed to their level of comfort. You need coaches that push you outside your comfort zone because that’s how you grow and that’s how you develop self confidence and self esteem. They push you to deal with failure,” Tom Brady
