They can fund a lot of dev just by re-adding old content and seasons in order and let players (re)play (and buy) what they missed. Easily few years of "content" just there with proper NL experience. Also, porting D1 to PC.

For additional bonus they should roll back everything post TFS and remove LF (strand belongs to WQ) when they get to it.

The only good move for Sony is closing Bungie, annonuce D2 revival starting from Red War, (selectable) seasons, skipping LF and put strand in WQ where it belongs, and stoping at TFS.
This MUST include fix the MC/NPC writing and lore.
Only then D3 can have any chance.

In short, they need NMS post launch levels of effort to restore it.
