“Promoting masking in music spaces is important to me since #LongCOVID affects a person's ability to play music.”—French musician phytocene @holo_cene calls on musicians & fans to unite against super-spreading and ostracism against communities with disabilities.

Late yesterday, Trump issued an executive order that terminates HHS's Long COVID advisory committee.
The committee's focus was bringing perspectives from outside government to inform action of the Executive Branch on Long COVID and other infection-associated chronic conditions.
With long Covid continuing to be a leading cause of disability, physicians, researchers, and policymakers should follow the science — and the science does not point to functional neurological disorder… https://t.co/czqcNbZKx2
We cannot ignore the public health crisis that is Long COVID. On Long COVID Awareness Day, let us commit to doing everything we can to address this horrible condition. The U.S. government must do more to increase awareness and provide additional resources to develop treatments.

Long COVID is a growing crisis for our communities and we can't leave our #LongHaulers behind.
On #LongCOVID Awareness Day, I'm calling on Congress to take action to #TreatLongCOVID and provide our long-haulers the support and care they deserve.
Today is #LongCovidAwarenesDay…
It marks the moment, 4 years ago, where my life was changed forever.
While I am fortunate to still be amongst you all, able to take care of and speak for myself.
I acknowledge that I am the exception and not the rule.

“In the earliest days of the AIDS crisis, America ignored the problem, even though people were dropping dead by the thousands.
We’re repeating the mistake now with long COVID.”
Thank you @njdotcom editorial board 👏

“@K_Bishof , 34, who continues to experience Long COVID, says that many patients she speaks to still find it difficult to get people and doctors to take their symptoms seriously, or feel concern at being the only person masked in a hospital waiting room. “There’s no mitigation left,” Bishof says. “It’s hurry up and move on.”
“Places don't understand how much not masking excludes those of us who are immunocompromised,” @CynthiaAdinig says. “I'm really forced to say no, you can't pursue your dreams.”
@limitlessliza, 39, says that the way accommodations, like work from home policies and at-home testing kits, were quickly implemented during the peak pandemic years showed that society could adjust to make itself more inclusive towards people with disabilities. But now, she just feels left behind. “It makes you turn to isolation or recognize that you are now of lesser value in society,” she says.

🆘 The “Better” Update 🚨
Finally told my siblings. So I guess I can talk to the world now.
The cancer is as worse as it can be. The good news is there are 2 changes to treatment before the conversation about just making me comfortable.
Bad news is this is the first of those two.

Sending all my love and well-wishes to the #HELPLongCovid folks who exerted themselves well beyond their energy envelopes today. True heroes. Wishing you a speedy PEM recovery. What a truly historic day for #LongCovid. @senatorsanders please don’t let us down. Thank you all 🙏🏻❤️🩹
The #LongCOVID crisis is real and demands a bold federal response.
That means using the power of convening to shine a light on it & advancing bills like my #TREATLongCOVID Act to help our #LongHaulers get the care they need.
TY @HELPCmteDems for convening this critical hearing.
The discussions we had on yesterday must translate into concrete actions that address the needs of people with #LongCovid, ME/CFS & other infection-associated chronic conditions
We have a lot of work ahead
It is all-hands-on-deck situation
We need every one of you!
