New Delhi l 15 June 2026 : We strongly condemn the sharing of an unverified and misleading video allegedly by Delhi University professor Lukram Ingochouba Meitei. The video was circulated claiming to be related to recent incidents in Manipur.

Manipur Police has clarified that the circulated video is not related to Manipur and warned the public against sharing unverified and provocative content that can create panic, hatred, and further tension between communities.

A person holding an academic position has a responsibility to verify facts before sharing sensitive content, especially during an ongoing ethnic conflict. Spreading unverified material can fuel misinformation and deepen divisions.

This is not the first time that false narratives and unverified claims have been alleged to be circulated during the Manipur crisis. We recall the incident where Edison Moirangthem was accused of spreading claims about Meitei women being publicly raped in Churachandpur.

Following such claims, violence escalated, and on 4 May 2023, Kuki women were paraded naked in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district, an incident that drew nationwide condemnation and is under investigation.

We also reiterate that Kuki women in Churachandpur protected Meitei civilians from an angry mob in Lamka during the early days of the violence, and there were no reports of Meitei women being raped or killed in Churachandpur.

False narratives from any side must be rejected. Truth, accountability, and justice are necessary to prevent further suffering and to restore peace in Manipur.

Here's the list of functionalities that have been introduced:

1) Introduced push notifications and the "ping" functionality;

For the ping functionality to work, the users need to be on the Version 1.2.8 and beyond. If your referrals are using the outdated version, the ping reminders won't be sent to them. Therefore, it's recommended not to spam the ping functionality the first two days or so because the pings won't be sent until your referrals have updated Delta with the Version 1.2.8.

Furthermore, the Chinese users need to use VPN in order to ensure the ping functionality works normally for them because Google's FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging) isn't supported therein.

2) The default encoding for the verification strings have been adjusted to "Base64" for all the users except Koreans. For the Koreans, the default encoding format is the "Legacy" one.

3) Starting from Version 1.2.8, users will receive prompts in case they use the wrong numbers to send the verification strings at the dSMS verification step.

For instance: If you've entered ([phone]) on the Delta app, but send the verification string using ([phone]), you'll be prompted about the same. This has been made possible after re-adjusting the default encoding format to "Base64".

We had also updated all the DSMS verifiers earlier today to update their terminals accordingly to account for this change.

4) We have resolved the issue linked with the inability to access "dApps" if VPN was enabled. Users can now check out "dApps" even with the VPN.
