Due to the #CallahanFire, NV Energy has de-energized lines to keep first responders safe as well as prevent secondary ignitions. The outage is affecting approximately 5,500 customers. NV Energy is monitoring the situation to determine when it will be safe to restore power.

The #DavisFire started on Sept. 7, 2024, near the Davis Creek Regional Park southwest of Reno, Nevada. It burned burned a total of 5,824 acres of private, state, and federal lands, destroying two commercial buildings, 14 residences, and 22 outbuildings. However, fire experts agree it could have been a lot worse, without the fuels reduction work that has been ongoing in this area for years, and it’s been a team effort between federal, state and local agencies.
