Rebekah Brooks rose to prominence as the youngest editor of News of the World and the first female editor of The Sun, shaping British tabloids during a defining era. Known for her powerful connections and influence, she became CEO of News International (now News UK), re-establishing her relationship with Rupert Murdoch in 2015.

However, Brooks’ tenure as editor coincided with some of the darkest chapters in British journalism. During her time at News of the World, illegal phone hacking , was rife, affecting people in the news, politicians, and even vulnerable victims of crime like Milly Dowler’s family. Brooks was acquitted of any criminal wrongdoing in 2014, arguing that she had no knowledge of the illegal practices which occurred at the publisher.  Yet - despite this apparently significant management oversight - she was reappointed by Murdoch as Chief Executive of News UK in 2015.

13 years on from the hacking scandal, significant questions around press ethics and accountability continue to loom over British journalism.

These old trees are dying 🌳😓

But it wasn't the Ivy that has been cut away that is killing them the culprit is simply old age🌿

These Alder trees only live for about as long as we do and so by cutting the Ivy🌿 off the only thing the well meaning culprit has achieved is to deny wildlife refuge and nutrition 💮🍇

The trees are still going to go for the long sleep but they would have continued to stand and support the Ivy allowing it to do it's work for years to come.

Right now the Ivy in Ireland is begining to flower and will sustain 🐝 & other insects well into late Autumn 🍂

These flowers will be followed by fat-rich berries 🍇 that will keep birds going through the winter

Ivy does not kill trees. It is an essential part of our natural ecosystem so please leave it be
