@MumAlliston As mentioned on another comment, he might now qualify for NHS continuing care which does remove the cost factor. Downside though is he would likely have to move as most care homes are not rated for that level of care. I did it for both my parents when we had to.

@nationaltrust Thank you for your reply, but judging by the 5 different websites I checked dogs are only welcome outside and not in the buildings. Why can I not look around a building if I am on holiday with my dogs?

@Rothmus One of the key points so many people miss on this is “free at point of use”. Of course we pay for it through our NI contributions (not Income Tax) but when we need it we are never asked to open our wallets with the exception of prescriptions (outside of hospital) or dentistry

Issuing via mass media is more efficient than relying on people reading emails which will also have been sent out
