nyc the last few days has reminded me of the NYC of my youth -- more communal, less self-serious; more random interactions, less mean-mugging as if you're starring in your own personal HBO show. good reminder that despite gentrification this place can reclaim what made it cool.
FTP: LAPD killed her dog. He was wearing his Knicks jersey.
His name was Jameson. A golden doodle. One of the sweetest, most gentle breeds alive.
A neighbor called a noise complaint. That's it.
20+ officers showed up. Then a helicopter. For a noise complaint in an apartment complex.
And they shot Jameson dead. In front of his owner. In front of her child.
No warning. No de-escalation. Nothing.
The media is barely covering this. No headlines. No outrage.
Like it never happened.
If this was your dog... your child watching... how would you feel?
Jameson deserved better. That little boy deserved better. His mama deserved better.
That neighbor knew what they were doing when they called the cops over a noise complaint because someone was celebrating the Knicks winning. People know what happens when you bring cops into any situation.
I love the fact the Knicks won. However this championship subjecting me to hearing Empire State of mind all damn day is not it. Play Ja Rule New York or computers or some shit idk man but not that damn song please!
