Visuals of peaceful protest march by Sangat of Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib, Nanded in Maharashtra against Maharashtra Government cabinet decision to make amended in the Nanded Gurdwara Board Act, 1956. The Sangat is reciting Satnam Waheguru in their protest march. Big resentment against state government among Sikh community in Nanded. We have appealed Maharashtra government to immediately withdraw its cabinet decision and refrain from interfering in Sikh affairs.

The act of limiting the number of members of Sikh organisations in Takht Sri Hazur Sahib Nanded Gurdwara Board is very sad and condemnable. This decision of Maharashtra Government’s council of ministers led by @mieknathshinde is a direct interference in Sikh Gurdwara affairs, which cannot be tolerated by Sikh community. Maharashtra Govt’s decision to increase the number of Govt nominated members and reduce the members of Sikh organisations in Gurdwara Board is an act to take direct control of Sikh shrines. No advance consultation has been done with Sikhs before proposing such an amendment in the ‘The Nanded Sikh Gurdwara Sachkhand Sri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib Board Act, 1956’.
I appeal to Chief Minister of Government of Maharashtra Shri Ek Nath Shinde to immediately stop conspiracies to increase Govt influence in management and concerns of Sikh shrines. Distortion of the Nanded Sikh Gurdwara Sachkhand Sri Hazur Abchalnagar Sahib Board Act, 1956, should be stopped.
Participation of representatives of Sikh organisations should be ensured in the Nanded Gurdwara Board as earlier.
This is a very serious matter related to the Sikhs, for which a delegation of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee should be given immediate appointment for a meeting with the CM so that serious consideration can be given from every aspect. There is also strong resentment against this decision among the Sangat of Hazur Sahib also.
The representation to members of Sikh organisations in the Nanded Gurdwara Board has a meaning to ensure functioning of Board in transparent and religious manner in view of the sanctity of Takht Sahib, associated Sikh shrines and any distortion in the Act will damage this sentiment.
