@PSLToFlushing@SNYtv@ConnorJRogers Were you as upset as I was to hear Stearns mention Baty as a player in the mix for both the 1B and 2B position next year? If he's on the roster, he should be a utility player AT MOST
@MaxMannis Jett and Sproat were only 2/4 prospects the CHW asked for. Source: https://t.co/VhxEzdnCtT
I agree that it doesn't look great, but there's some partial information coupled with hindsight in this take
@TalkinMetsNoG To be fair mike, he's been doing great with the cubs. He had a blow up start vs STL that balloons his numbers there, but for the most part he's been awesome for the CHC, giving them 5+IP with 2 or less ER per start
@Yankees_realist@PSLToFlushing Could be, but that has nothing to do with what he wrote. What's written is that being the MIN system considered top-10, it can be assumed these players might be stronger than their ranking within the system implies. And I don't think that is necessarily the case, even if probable
@Yankees_realist@PSLToFlushing Respectfully, I didn't challenge his knowledge of prospects. I'd say when it comes to guessing how good a teams #28 prospect is based on the general ranking of their overall system, the playing field is pretty level
@chelsea_janes I, for one, can't stand when reporters fall into the "loveble loser, can't get out of their own way" Mets narrative. I find it lazy and condescending. Please don't fall into that trap
@PSLToFlushing We'll never know how much of it was his fault, because he hardly tried changing anything. Kept running out the same lineups, kept letting players ignore coaching (baserunnig, abs), kept running out players who didn't deserve any more chances, etc etc
@PSLToFlushing@SNYtv@ConnorJRogers With very brief AAA stints for Benge, Ewing, Thorton, and Tong last year - does Stearns view AAA as more of a place to stash depth rather than a developmental stage? Or is all this just coincidence?
