Then they went to bizarre colors & goofy storylines. But still had higher viewership than ST at the time. 🤷‍♂️???

@tregonsee3141 @SubcommanderT Actually I watched the entire original series in B&W. When I watched reruns in Color it seemed a bit cheesy. The “Pop 60’s Colors” detracted from the storylines.

Kind of like watching colorized Twilight Zone episodes.

Same thing with all the current wizz-bang CGI.

Colt was a Dodge subcompact - actually a rebadged Mitsubishi Galant - a direct market competitor to the Ford Pinto and Chevrolet Vega

@007 At the time (1964), industrial lasers had just been invented. The mix of such fantasy with plausible reality is part of what made 007 movies so unique & entertaining.

With modern CGI, people expect just fantasy with little connection to actual reality. In other words - boring.

@Iowamom7 Actually you could buy a much better Ford Maverick - which basically had a 1960’s Falcon/Mustang chassis & drive train for a few hundred dollars difference.

But this was during the 70’s Oil Crisis - and max fuel economy was being promoted.

And Social Security & Medicare is not insurance. It is paid for through payroll taxes from current wage earners to pay benefits to those who now receive them.
