Do existing climate risk rating approaches do a good job of capturing uncertainty? Unlikely, but there is a framework to improve them. https://t.co/5ljRRR28Ka
After completing two rapid intensification periods (30 kts or more in 24 hrs), #CycloneBatsirai is a category 4 equivalent TC at 120 knots. It is expected to make landfall in #Madagascar within the next 60 hrs. 12Z #ECMWF + #GFS ensemble mean landfall is south of 20 degrees.
Stellar effort from everyone at @reaskearth! I'm very proud of this milestone - this product will have huge benefit not just in North Atlantic and West Pac but also Philippines, Bangladesh, East Africa etc.
After over 2 years of development we are proud to release our Unified Tropical Cyclone (UTC) model: a climate-connected view of TC wind risk with global coverage.

@RealRonHoward A less obvious advantage of this system is that there's no point trying to discourage people from voting. It's an antidote to voter suppression.
@nickengerer@LiberalAus In order of most to least liberal. Socially: Greens, Labor, Liberal, National. Economically is more difficult: Liberal, Labor, Greens, National. But remember that the Liberal and National are combined to form one party (LNP) .
@KimDotcom US does not have preferential or represenatational voting systems. Any vote that does not go to Dems or Reps is basically thrown in the bin. Almost impossible to have more than 2 parties.
