Still can't believe this is real. So many memories, mad nights, running past him on the foor of Dorans, SFA gigs, Palestine marches. Had such a laugh in his company a few weeks ago. Trev Radiator Forever 💔
Trevor Dietz.
We are utterly heartbroken to let you know that on Sunday June 7th we lost our dear friend and manager Trevor.
Trevor was beside us from the beginning of our journey as a band, we have never known Fontaines D.C. without him, the sixth member of the band.
🇮🇪 A very proud night for our captain Dawson Devoy, his family, our club, and all those who helped in his development along the way at both Bohemians and St Kevin’s. 👏
Deserved recognition - the first Bohs player to win a senior cap for Ireland since Glen Crowe 23 years ago. ❤️🖤
"Never forget," they say.
But they choose what you remember.
Never forget Tiananmen.
Never forget 9/11.
Never forget the Holocaust.
But somehow, you are allowed to forget Fallujah.
You are allowed to forget Mỹ Lai.
You are allowed to forget Sabra and Shatila.
You are encouraged to forget Gaza while it is still happening.
This is not a culture of remembrance.
It is a culture of selective memory.

The general strike against neoliberalism continues, the number of barricades erected along highways is now 90, a record breaking number.
“What really hurts them is the suburbs. We need to target them, flatten them and completely destroy them.”
Far-right Israeli minister Itamar Ben Gvir called on the army to “flatten” Beirut's suburbs “to the ground”, a direct incitement to mass civilian destruction.
A Derry City councillor says he will name members of the Israeli football squad he claims have “participated in the genocide” in Gaza, during a debate on a motion calling on the Football Association of Ireland to cancel upcoming matches against Israel.

As seen by @The42_ie, letter signed by 5 members of FAI General Assembly calls for an Extraordinary General Meeting as soon as possible to bring forward motion calling on the FAI to boycott Israel games. Need 10% of 145 members. Expect to have numbers by tomorrow. More to follow.
Congratulations to Hearts. The real champions. The vile Celtic & disgusting Martin O’Neill can pretend all they want.
But everyone knows. The whole world has seen it.
Hearts are the Champions ❤️
Today is the birthday of Palestinian communist Najati Sidqi. Sidqi was born on May 15, 1905. He was one of the first members of the Palestinian Communist Party (PCP) and fought against fascists during the Spanish Civil War.
Between 1925 and 1928, he was sent by the Comintern to study at the Communist University of the Toilers of the East (KUTV) in Moscow. There he met his Ukrainian Jewish wife, Lutka. After returning to Palestine, he was elected to the party’s central committee and was arrested by the British Mandate authorities because of his anti-colonial activities, spending two years in prison.
One of the most remarkable periods of Sidqi’s life was the Spanish Civil War. In 1936, he was sent to Spain by the Comintern. His main mission was to carry out anti-fascist propaganda among the Moroccan soldiers brought to fight on General Franco’s side against the Republicans, and to try to convince them to join the Republican side. Working mainly from Barcelona, he wrote pamphlets in Arabic and planned radio broadcasts.
During World War II, he wrote anti-fascist books and articles arguing that Nazism and Islam were completely incompatible and opposed to one another. In his later years, he worked as a journalist in Beirut, Damascus, and Cyprus, and translated classic authors such as Pushkin and Chekhov into Arabic.
He died in exile in Athens in 1979.
Dear Reform-voting ladies…
Do you know youre voting for a party that wants to:
❌ Scrap the Equality Act - your legal protection against workplace discrimination & unequal pay
❌ Kill the Online Safety Act - the law protecting you from revenge porn
❌ Vote AGAINST the bill to stop workplace sexual harassment
❌ Stack the party with anti-abortion politicians - some opposing termination even in cases of rape
❌ Push “pro-family” policies that put women back in the home
I guess the question is…
Do you hate immigrants more than you love your rights?
Do we want our lives improved and our needs met, or do we want the rich to get richer?
Come out for International Workers' Day marches in #cork#dublinireland and #belfast this weekend and show your support for a better and more equitable world.
Up the workers!
