@summerbrennan It gives a history of the woman and the family from which the HeLa cell line was taken without consent in the 1950s, on which many many discoveries of modern medicine are based. https://t.co/hoYRKYu5QO
Today I discovered python-box, a neat little package to make it much more convenient to implement dot notation access. https://t.co/WOThrAi9re (via https://t.co/CDSKo3ikLu)
This deserves more RTs. Dask has fundamentally changed how we can work with data in python. We regularly compute over 100s of millions of rows on an ordinary workstation- unthinkable ~5 years ago.
Dask was originally developed to scale NumPy and pandas. As Matthew Rocklin says the #Python community quickly became interested in the Dask Engine and used it to build many more specialized tools. https://t.co/jm6WxCngLO
🎉😍 tskit 0.5.0 is live on PyPI and conda 😍🎉
This is a major release so it's time for a
new features thread. Thank you to all our contributors for their hard work on this release. 🧵https://t.co/YQCdve4EBf
Starting using this recently. Very handy for those little classes where you don't know properties/methods. Way better than previous "workflow" of hitting dot-complete all the time.
I use rich.inspect pretty much every day. It is one of the most popular features of Rich
>>> from rich import inspect
>>> inspect(str, methods=True)

@chadmccullough@Fastmail Have been using for > 8 years as my primary email. It's _ok_. Android app is poor, and won't work without data connection, ie no local cache/send later. If I was looking again I'd probably look elsewhere tbh. Spam protection not great / filtering clunky.
Thanks @DannyYee for your review/reflections on the 'Quickways' proposals in Oxford (and @cycloxoxford for sharing). We're lucky to have you thinking carefully about this stuff! https://t.co/R9q6n3uBI5
You can respond to the consultation by Sunday, here: https://t.co/QVXMQIR69C
