@SecDuffy 100% bullshit. Has Sean Duffy ever even been to New York? I recently drove to NY (usually I take the train) and I was more than happy to pay $9. Congestion was noticeably less.
Trump: “I am a king and I declare congestion pricing to be killed”
MTA: “lol, no”
three days later and the congestion relief zone is still in effect. we are winning and we will keep winning against the mad king
@DJKeenstar@madcomawareness@alanthefisher I don’t know why I’m bothering engaging here. The concept here is high speed. In theory that means Chicago - Detroit could be as little as 2 hours. If we bothered to make the investment.
Professor Donald Shoup died on February 6th.
He has a strong claim on being the scholar who will have had the greatest impact on your day-to-day life by focusing on an impossibly boring problem that was completely neglected before him: where we park our cars. 🧵
@DJKeenstar@alanthefisher You guys are missing the point. The point is all the other cities along that route. Also, remember the flight needs an extra hour added for security and getting to and from the airport.
I think Congestion Pricing is the first law passed in my 10 years in NYC that everyone who *lives in NYC* mostly agrees with and likes. There were simply too many cars and way too much traffic. It was unsustainable and congestion pricing actually worked and I hope it comes back.
@choppen5@realDonaldTrump@elonmusk I would expect @elonmusk to be a big proponent, not only for the cost savings but for the obvious electricity potential, desperately needed in high tech times.
@elonmusk That is literally the essence of democracy. Our government has three co-equal branches and the Court can and must be a check on the executive branch when it violates the law, especially direct violations of the Constitution.
@elonmusk Judicial review does not mean judges “run the country” it means presidents must govern within legal and constitutional boundaries. If any president could act without legal limits, we wouldn’t have democracy we’d have dictatorship.
read this letter. just read it. in any other presidency, this letter alone would trigger impeachment proceedings.
this is a blatantly corrupt quid-pro-quo and the media should be covering this like watergate
@ArtemisConsort I agree that it’s hard to talk them out of it. Disagree that it’s a “rational preference”. It’s actually completely irrational because, on average, it’s nonsense.
In my opinion, more than 75% of every urban planning, architecture, and landscape architecture program today should focus on “SPRAWL REPAIR”.
The work is endless.
And virtually nobody is teaching it.
something been nagging at me and I wanna cause a fuss, so here goes.
Liberals/Democrats & broader left, especially but not only those involved in climate, need to be called out for over a decade of covering for Elon Musk.
Elon only got rich because of “progressive” EV subsidies
