Last week, the Allegheny County Jail celebrated National Correctional Employees Week with special meals and events honoring all the staff who work tirelessly each day.

An important part of the week is honoring those who came before us. On Wednesday, May 7, we held our annual Memorial Service for former correctional employees who have passed away.

Another escape attempt from the hospital Thursday at 3 AM. Officers were kicked at and bit. So when you’re at the hospital with an active TB patient and you can’t sit in the room there’s even more opportunity to try to break the bed rail or slip the cuff and make a run for it.
