What. A. Day.🩵
We gathered to call out corporate greed & demand stronger policies against water pollution. We can be the change nature needs. We won’t stop until societal wellbeing & the planet’s health are prioritised over bonuses.

What a night! I couldn’t be more proud of our 4 new @TheGreenParty MPs. And what strikes me most is that every single vote they won was a vote not for the least worst option, but a positive joyful vote for real hope & change 💚 @carla_denyer@AdrianRamsay@sianberry@EllieChowns
The fight for at least thirty @TheGreenParty MPs at the next election starts now. Our four Green MPs and countless incredible second places shows that is possible, but we need significantly more members to do it.

A thought this morning for the inspirational @CarolineLucas who spent over a decade working hard to establish the Greens as a viable Parliamentary Party. She now steps down by handing over to four Green MPs who not only won, but won comfortably.
I just can’t get past Labour winning 65% of seats off 34% of the vote.
Absolutely wild mismatch between the headline result and, well, everything else.
Britain is now a multi-party system, and first-past-the-post can’t cope.
LANDSLIDE WIN for @sianberry in Brighton Pavilion
What a deserving successor to @CarolineLucas and a bloomin' massive majority 💚

Thank you to everyone who voted Green in North Herefordshire, and to everyone who worked so hard to make history here.
I can't wait to get started as your new MP 💚
WE DID IT!
Bristol, we made history💚
Thank you so much to the people of Bristol Central who have elected me as their MP
As this city's first Green MP, I promise to be a strong, independent voice for Bristol's values, pushing the govt to be bolder on the issues that matter
GREEN GAIN from CON - majority of 5000 votes

Midsummer Common mowing makes the @thetimes:
‘@TonyJuniper who lives in Cambridge, told The Times: “Part of the spectacle there before the mowing was this incredible view of a beautiful sea of yellow flowers, a manifestation of biodiversity’

The science is clear that to prevent further climate breakdown, we need to leave fossil fuels in the ground.
This must come with the right investment to ensure a massive upscaling of renewables that protects livelihoods and creates decent green jobs.

You can have new fossil fuel, or pursue the 1.5C target. But not both. The science is clear that these are not compatible. And every government in the world _explicitly_ approved that statement.
A powerful speech today from Cllr Naomi Bennett, leader of the @CambridgeGreens at @camcitco, expressing her concerns about the adequacy of scrutiny, unsustainable growth, and the limited water supply in Cambridge.
🎉 We've passed 100 net gains!
📺 As @ZackPolanski outlines here, East Hertfordshire is just one of the councils where Greens have won big - becoming the biggest party on the council with a 15 (!) seat gain.

Greens have passed 100 net gains 👏👏👏
This is the mark political commentators said was the mark of success for the Green Party this year #GetGreensElected

Here's the graph of that sensational Newnham result - a big win for the Greens who campaigned very hard in the ward. Labour's vote share down slightly, but very bad news for the Lib Dems who clearly got squeezed.
