“Your mess can be your greatest message—if you let it be.” — Amber Rae
That line hit me hard. For years I thought the “messy” parts of my life were things to hide or fix before I could show up.
Midlife has taught me the opposite.
My self-improvement project this fall: start a podcast.
Not to chase downloads or build an audience. To practice sharing ideas before they felt “perfect.”
It has taught me a lesson I needed: done is better than perfect, but done enough is even better.
@F1LasVegas Would be nice if Ticketmaster worked properly and didn’t error out repeatedly, then kick you out after 10 minutes because THEIR system couldn’t get it done in the allotted timeframe. Then back to a waitlist with 200 people ahead of you. Good luck, everyone.
@evielync@markbowley “The fun is in the mastery part.”
This resonates with me. Probably why I jump from thing to thing to thing. Can I figure this out? Cool, done. Now I’m bored and want something new to sink my teeth into.
Shout out to @stavan for the sweet Erevald wallpaper.
And CC @wordisbonz in case you can use anything in this to make a video (as mentioned in your tweet).
Today’s @_buildspace lecture was about building a toy version of our ideas. I started this last night and put the finishing touches on it just now and recorded a quick demo.
I used @Jotform apps and the calculation widgets in their form.

Next step will likely be to get this toy version in people’s hands so they can play with it and provide feedback.
Meanwhile, I’ll work on a proper version, tackling the annoying manual work required by the end user in this toy version.
@iChris@NotionHQ I'm unclear on this also. If it requires a paid notion plan and EACH domain is $10/month that's preposterous for multiple websites. In a perfect world the Plus plan includes the ability to add unlimited custom domains.
Here’s my first update for @_buildspace@_nightsweekends.
I’m making an app called Gas Hopper and I wrote some “as a user” notes. Wanted to share my thought process so far :)
NOTE: this is for Canadians close enough to the US border that it may make sense to get gas there.
