I'm doing some research for a new newsletter and it's pretty clear we're going to have a huge problem when the clinicians at mental health clinics are leaving due to salary, leading to longer wait times for those that need the most help (children + rising risk patients)
@jfschneidr Totally agree. Scheduling integration is a big deal and is largely overlooked in conversations/policy making around interoperability. Also have not seen middleware solutions like Redox focus on scheduling integration enough!
@OMERSVentures@chrissyfarr@MSchlueterMoore The lack of connection and consistent UX between all these point products are a big problem that I’ve seen for many tech-enabled services in this space. It’s v expensive to connect all of these solutions together or build table stakes telehealth operations features from scratch.

Physicians may be choosing to proceed with virtual care for a multitude of reasons, including but not limited to patient preference, patient experience, provider experience, ability to accommodate patient needs and accessibility issues, appropriateness of care, ease of use. 1/2
“I was working as an ER physician, and in one week, I easily solved three different friends’ medical problems by text message and video chat. I realized that remote virtual care really worked":
