There are no words to express how heartbroken we all are.

Jessi Pierce (Hinrichs) was the most vibrant person - the life of the party, always with a smile on her face, always bringing a passion to every article and podcast and interview she did. Jessi simply loved covering the Wild and hockey throughout Minnesota and had a way of brightening everyone’s day with her upbeat, bubbly personality. I have literally NEVER met anybody that had a way of being EVERYBODY’s friend.

More than anything, she absolutely loved Hudson, Cayden and Avery and was the greatest mother who did everything she could to bring joy to her sweetest kids. Even at Friday’s practice in her beloved Iowa State sweatshirt, she was so excited to take them to the seasonal opening of Cup and Cone in WBL. Seeing those precious pics yesterday, she provided them with another incredibly fun and loving day.

My heart breaks for Mike for the loss of his wife and children and Jessi’s family, friends and colleagues for this unimaginable loss. This hockey community lost a wonderful, energetic and one of a kind voice and story teller and Grade A person.

Life can be unbearably unfair sometimes, and it’s impossible to make sense of this tragedy.

Please keep Jessi and her beautiful kids in your thoughts and prayers. I wish Mike all the peace and support and happiness in the world.

A lot of tears were shed at the arena yesterday. We, in the Wild media and inside the Wild, will miss seeing Jessi everyday, laughing with her everyday. The press box and press room won’t be the same without her. It’ll be a lot quieter, a lot less funny. But her passion and joy for covering this hockey team and sport will remain.

Sorry for the length of this, but as Jessi knew better than most as my original Athletic “backup” and somebody who always gave me Minnesota Hockey Journal deadline extensions, as she used to joke, I’m incapable of writing tight.

Especially about her.

RIP Jessi, Hudson, Cayden and Avery. 🙏💔

I asked #MNTwins owner Joe Pohlad about payroll and why the team is treated as just another typical business.

Here's a full transcript of my question, his response, and two follow-up questions that I asked after hearing it.

[Minnesota Sports Fan @realmnsportsfan]

You don't want to share this article on how the #MNTwins arrested and banned a fan from Target Field for displaying an anti-Pohlad sign. They would not like that, i bet. https://t.co/86UP5HnytY

Good luck getting your money back from the Pohlads to all the fans who bought playoff tickets

A recap of the #MNTwins 2024

- Cut $30 million after winning a division and playoff series
- Made their product inaccessible on TV after saying it was a priority
- 0 significant deadline moves
- Collapsed in September again and miss the playoffs

An assterclass of a season.

Unreal long lasting NHL career for Alex Goligoski. Enjoy retirement Goose!

Let’s relive his game winning goal in his 1000th NHL game. #mnwild

Initiating Offensive Foul: Taking a shooting motion into the defender that’s not a normal shooting motion.

Luka Doncic literally leaned forward to shoot the 3 into KAT. That by the letter should have been an offensive foul. His normal shot is literally leaning back.

With the 124th pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, the #NHLBruins have selected Beckett Hendrickson.

Welcome to Boston, Beckett!

Unforgettable moments for the 200+ special athletes at this years festival! Thank you Alex Ovechkin, @specialhockey, @BauerHockey and @HPIBorg for your support! Each athlete enjoyed a new Bauer stick and a weekend of ice time. The joy was palpable! #gr8skate #hockeychangeslives

One of my favorite stories ever! @PulltabSports sent me to Hendrickson Foundation National Hockey Festival in search of a story. I found so much more.

A clerical error has left 3 athletes from Cambridge-Isanti off the roster for state sectionals this Friday.

The mistake only impacted the girl’s shot put competition.

Their coach, athletic director and parents have asked MSHSL to reverse their decision, but to no avail.
