Story is how we make sense of the world. So important. & thanks for the Alice Oseman recommendation: my non-reading 12 year old is totally hooked. Amazing. 😁😁

@Teacherglitter I have 2 girls. 1 in a girls grammar school & the other recently started the local comp. when she told me they have to have a pass to use the loo in class my 1st thought was how discriminatory & hideous & embarrassing. No such system in the girls’ school ….

@ALibraryscience Fab. Thankyou. I will take a look. It’s amazing to have her reading by choice (I spent 15yrs in the publishing world, so having a kid who doesn’t read can feel like failure, even tho I know she loves story in many forms & picture books!)

@ALibraryscience Heartbreaking. Tonight I re-read for the zillionth time @NickSharratt1 Octopus Socktopus & Elephant Welliphant with my 12 year old. Yup. 12. Because she loves them (& him) & returns to them when she’s feeling blue: for comfort. & each time she loves them like the first. Magic

Ideas to get teens reading please. Mainly for a friend who’s running a project for a library .... also for me who has book-averse teens despite my life having been all about reading & literacy. 😂🤦🏻‍♀️🤷‍♀️
