This is incorrect.
National I’d agree. Local broadcast for baseball is different. It works there. Much more intimate with at least 144 games a year on local TV and all 162 on radio. A point was made that first names blur the lines of neutrality. If you’re a neutral local broadcaster you’re a bad one.
I do admire the balls to drop a note to MLB broadcasters. However ill informed it was.
Expelling LSU from the SEC would be glorious on so many levels but replacing them with former SEC member Tulane to keep that Louisiana presence would be even funnier.
LOL. No. If you want this in a national broadcast, sure. But why should a regional/home broadcast have to abide by this logic? Fans are connected on a personal basis with their team and its players. Referring to them like members of the armed forces at all times isn't necessary.
I heard there is a poll going on between “Thanos” and I on who would win in a singles match……“Thanos” obtained 6 stupid little infinity stones…..but I won a Gold Medal with a broken freakin neck, how many Gold Medals has Thanos won? ZERO! Hit my music 3 times and it’s game on. YEAH!!!!!!!!

college football is a jeffersonian sport about the power of competing local elites that has been perverted into a hamiltonian sport about the tyranny of the judiciary
if you’ve ever seen something bad happen in alabama or mississippi or tennessee or georgia or any other southern or appalachain state and thought to yourself “that’s what they get” you don’t get to mourn dolly parton. i hope this helps.
