The best people I know are geniuses who are perfectly happy to act like idiots. They move fast, they're wrong a lot, they update quickly, and they keep going. That combo is basically unbeatable.
It would be surprising that humans would make something and then call it God, except for the fact that it’s one of the oldest practices in human history.
@keemalabd@_dave_mccoy I’m responding to the claim in the video, which states one is older.
Both inherit the Torah, as stated in my first tweet. One formed from the Torah first for its modern version.
@keemalabd@_dave_mccoy It would have been Jews who saw themselves as finding a Jewish Messiah.
The earliest community of Christians was centered in Jerusalem there at its origin.
We see a separate faith, but what matters is what the original believers saw themselves as.
@keemalabd@_dave_mccoy That is your interpretation.
Ask a Christian at 32 CE if they thought they were continuing their Jewish tradition or starting a new faith. Your interpretation is anachronistic as evidenced by the early adherents viewing themselves as an extension, not an upheaval.
@keemalabd@_dave_mccoy Christianity arises ~30 CE while the destruction of the second temple and the start of modern Judaism occurs in 70 CE.
Both use the Torah (the Pentateuch) which is the book he uses here.
He didn’t need to mention it, he implied a false history based on the books selected.
